Description
Grubbs’ Farming Tools
Grubbs’ Farming Tools adds a small set of new farming tools that make working with crops faster and less annoying, while still feeling like vanilla Minecraft.
This mod is made for survival players who like farming but don’t like doing the same click over and over again.
What’s in the mod?
Scythes
Scythes let you harvest crops in an area instead of one block at a time.
- Right-click to harvest crops in a square around the block you click
- Fully grown crops drop their items and are replanted automatically
- Grass, flowers, and other small junk plants get cleared
- Different materials have different ranges and durability
- Enchantments like Sweep and Reaping improve range and durability use
Trowels
Trowels are for preparing soil and planting without juggling items.
- Converts coarse dirt and rooted dirt back into dirt
- Turns dirt or grass into farmland (if there’s room above)
- Automatically plants seeds from your offhand, selected slot, or hotbar
- Sneak with the Scatterplant enchantment to plant random crops from your inventory
- Planting is free and doesn’t waste durability
Watering Cans
Watering cans help crops grow without spamming bone meal.
- Fill them from water just like a bucket
- Right-click to encourage crop growth in an area
- Uses stored water instead of items
- Slowly refills while it’s raining
- Higher tiers cover more area and hold more water
- Netherite watering cans don’t break
Enchantments
The mod adds a few simple enchantments made specifically for these tools:
- Reaping – reduces durability loss on scythes
- Sweep – increases scythe harvest area
- Scatterplant – lets trowels plant random crops while sneaking
All enchantments are available through normal enchanting and villagers.
Configuration
Scythe behavior can be adjusted using a simple JSON config file.
- Change harvest radius
- Adjust cooldowns
- Tweak durability costs
- Missing or broken configs safely fall back to defaults
Balance and multiplayer
This mod is designed to:
- Feel like it belongs in vanilla
- Work in survival without being overpowered
- Run safely on servers
- Avoid automation or “set and forget” mechanics
It doesn’t add machines, pipes, or complicated systems — just better tools.
