This mod is incredibly early into development and so is not perfectly user friendly yet, it would not even be visible if it were not for the fact that i needed it to be public for the testing server to use it so i apologize if things feel scuffed.

the command to become a god is
/bestow @s [divinity]
the command to become a follower is
/bestow @s [divinity] follower
you can also become a follower by eating an essence of the divinity you want to become in a ring of lit candles, there is no way to currently become a god without commands or a game mode set that lets gods be born
Praying restores your faith bar, shift and look straight up into the sky to pray, faith restores faster on holy ground, around gods, and in your element, all of that stacks in speed
Just a note, this project is nowhere near finished and was released because curseforge was not letting me do something i needed to do without that so expect to see things nowhere near as good as i had wanted them to be when i released them so please have mercy on me ;^; (this mod is under a month old)
Gods and Faith does exactly as it says, there are a variety of gods upon which I keep expanding and followers of those gods with the followers having various powers related to their god and a faith bar to power those abilities, if you leave an idea i like in the comments i might add that so feel free to do so,
In this mod we have SHAPESHIFTING, ABILITIES, SIZES, POSSESSION, CUSTOMIZING AND ANIMATING YOUR OWN FEATURES (more to be added so sorry that it is lacking :>)
Water players and flora players are currently the shapeshifters as flora can become nearly any plant and even get various traits from them (most modded ones included) and water players can become a giant or a dolphin if they so choose, they can also eat raw kelp :D i am currently planning to add a faith of fauna that can become multiple different animals/creatures
Wind players are at 1.5 blocks tall and the wind god is only 1 block tall as i thought children protecting a pixie would be funny. Possesion is owned by the faction of death, they can kill and ressurect nearly any being to serve them, can armour zombies, and can possess their minions to spy or attack from a distance

Ender Followers
Followers of the Ender God are shapeshifters who change according to need, in their enderman form they can teleport and leave a temporary anchor to return to along with the ability to escape a void if they fall inside, they can shapeshift into a shulker for so that they can stick onto surfaces teleport around and shoot shulker bullets but cannot move, and an easily killed endermite form to allow them to fit into small gaps that they normally cannot fit inside of, the enderman body, vision, skin, and any other cosmetic effects are toggleable, access the menu by eating an ender essence
Fungal Followers
Followers of the Fungal God (W.I.P) are an infection, they mar the land and digest it's inhabitants to fuel the expansion of the organism who seeks nothing but death rot and chaos, the bodies of those they have slain may rise in a half digested state in order to defend the land so be wary if you seek to cleanse this stain, the followers are strong on their land but will quickly starve to death if removed from it for an extended period of time
Fire Followers
Followers of the Fire God are aggressive damage dealers built around explosive offense, burning pressure, and risk-reward power spikes. They become stronger in heat and can enter Soulfire Overdrive to turn their flames blue and push their damage even higher, but they become far more fragile while doing so. Fire rewards players who stay on the attack, keep momentum, and are willing to trade safety for destructive power. If you enjoy a high-risk, high-damage playstyle that thrives on aggression, Fire is for you.
Flora Followers
Followers of the Flora God excel at defense, control, and adaptation. They can shape the battlefield with plants, roots, brambles, and other growths while drawing passive traits from a chosen heart-core plant. Flora Followers can root themselves into plant form for concealment, utility, and survival, making them highly flexible depending on the plant they choose. If you enjoy fortifying space, controlling terrain, and outlasting enemies through preparation and utility, Flora is a strong defensive path.
Life Followers
Followers of the Life God are durable frontline fighters with strong direct combat power and supportive blessings. They are tough, straightforward, and effective in prolonged fights, with access to radiant support tools such as healing, purification, protection, and anti-undead power. Life also passively blesses their weapons against undead, reinforcing their role as holy warriors. If you prefer a tanky, honorable, head-on combat style with supportive utility, Life is an excellent choice.
Death Followers
Followers of the God of Death specialize in attrition, undead control, and battlefield pressure. They can raise the dead, command undead servants, possess creatures, and grow stronger in darkness. They are weaker in the light and can struggle if overwhelmed too quickly, but they become extremely dangerous in drawn-out fights where their undead and corruption have time to build pressure. If you enjoy a slow, oppressive, strategy-heavy playstyle, Death rewards patience and control.
Wind Followers
Followers of the Wind God are small, swift, and difficult to pin down. They excel at mobility, repositioning, escape, and fighting on their own terms, using wind to move themselves, manipulate blocks, and create clouds from water. Wind players are especially strong in open areas where movement freedom matters most, and they favor hit-and-run tactics, creative traversal, and battlefield disruption over direct brawling. If you enjoy speed, freedom, and controlling the pace of a fight, Wind is the ideal path.
Water Followers
Followers of the Water God are fluid, adaptive controllers who thrive in and around water. Their strength is tied to hydration and moisture: the more hydrated they are, the larger and stronger they can become, while dryness weakens them. They can stand on water, breathe underwater, manipulate waves, drag enemies downward with undertow, attack through bubble-breath constructs, and shift into a dolphin form for aquatic movement and utility. Water is strongest when it can turn the battlefield into its own domain and force others to fight on its terms. If you enjoy control, movement, adaptation, and using the environment as a weapon, Water is the right choice.
