This update to the Genesis pack's dedicated mod comes with its first wave of experimental content-based additions. For now, these are only in the form of gameplay and mechanical alterations, but more will come down the line as the need for it grows.
General
-
Included a
README.txtand log message stating this mod's intentions to coremod the game and other mods.- Mod developers should send people who have issues with their mods to us first if they originated from the Genesis pack.
- Structural and performance improvements to the respawn screen.
Music System
-
Completely revamped Minecraft's music playback system.
- Each "music" type in the game now must exhaust all tracks before they can be played again. It's like putting a Spotify playlist on shuffle without repeating any songs.
- The way this is done is very hacky and invasive, but is a change worth including to add some variety to Minecraft's music playback. It may be submitted as a PR to Music Manager at a later date.
- Fixed a bug with Music Manager not having the correct translation for C418 - Shuniji. This will be PR'ed into Music Manager at a later date.
Golem Summoning
-
Moyai blocks have replaced Carved Pumpkins and Jack-o-Lanterns as the "head" block for summoning Iron Golems, Tuff Golems, and Copper Golems.
- The Snow Golem can still be summoned by traditional means with a Carved Pumpkin.
- Iron Golems created with a Moyai block will no longer be wearing it on their head.
-
Tuff Golems can now be summoned by using a dispenser. This was previously impossible to do on its own, so this is an enhancement that will remain exclusive to the Genesis pack.
- Copper Golems' dispenser logic remains untouched, since you need to use a Lightning Rod in a dispenser in order to summon a Copper Golem. You will still need a Moyai block where the Carved Pumpkin would once have been.
