🌊 Version 1.2 — Fluvial Geomorphology & Hydrology Overhaul
- Target Platform: Minecraft 26.1 · NeoForge 26.1.0.19-beta+ · Java 25 · Requires Genesis: Core 1.0.0+
- Summary: A comprehensive overhaul of continental river systems, introducing mountain brooks, asymmetric meander morphology, hydraulic sediment sorting, oxbow lakes, braided deltas, and guaranteed continuous source-to-sea drainage.
🌟 Key Additions & Improvements:
- Headwater Brooks & Stream Hierarchy: High-altitude streams (1–3 blocks wide, 1–2 blocks deep) winding down steep slopes with gravel and stone beds, smoothly merging into wider rivers downstream.
- Natural Water Sources: Rivers and brooks no longer start as abrupt trenches in open plains. They rise naturally from dedicated water bodies: glacial melt pools (
MELT), mountain springheads (SPRING), forest lakes (LAKE), or marsh basins (MARSH). - Asymmetrical Meanders (Cut Banks & Point Bars): Dynamic channel cross-sections: steep bluffs and deeper thalwegs on the outer bank; gentle sediment shelves and beaches on the inner bank.
- Hydraulic Sediment Sorting: Flow-energy based riverbed composition: coarse gravel in rapids, sand bars in steady currents, and 3-block-deep clay beds in calm bends.
- Oxbow Lakes: Crescent-shaped stillwater lakes formed across wide floodplains with lily pads and marshy edges.
- Braided Deltas & River Islands: Mid-river gravel bars and wide estuaries seamlessly flowing into sea level without artificial drop-offs.
- Guaranteed Source-to-Sea Continuity: Eliminated dead-end rivers; all waterways strictly terminate at the ocean or major river trunks.
- Visual Polish: Soft, step-free riverbanks with cattails, water lilies, ferns, moss carpets, and fallen drift logs.
