Gathering Chunks — 2.2.5 — Beta 4

NOTE: I did NOT tested Fabric & Neoforge on servers, only on Clients. Gathering Chunks for Minecraft 26.1 & 1.21.11 is coming soon, there are a lot of API changes, that means i'll take a few days to fully port the mod to those versions leading to 2.2.5 Release.

Bug Fixes

  • Cauldron Rain Filler: Resolved a crash that could occur during world creation when the Cauldron Rain Filler was active. The root cause has been identified and patched.

Changes & Improvements

Cave Scanner A new Cave Scanner has been introduced. It functions similarly to the World Scanner but is designed specifically for underground cave types, allowing you to identify and locate cave biomes within chunks.

Fragment Ores Fragment Ores have been added as a replacement for the chest-based system. The original chest method remains available as a toggle in the configuration file for those who prefer it.

Update Checker: Error Handling Improved robustness of the Update Checker. It will now handle failures gracefully when the API server is unreachable, rather than producing errors or crashes.

World Generation Optimization General optimizations have been applied to world generation to reduce overhead and improve performance during chunk loading.

Config Screen: Scroll Limit A scroll limit has been added to the configuration screen to prevent unintended endless scrolling behavior.

Biome Consistency Improvements Biome consistency has been improved, reducing irregularities in biome placement and transitions.

Biome Search Improvements The biome searching system has been refined for more accurate and reliable results.

Mountain Spawning Some adjustments have been made to mountain spawning behavior. Note that this system is still known to have issues and is being actively worked on.

Known Issues

The following issues are known and being tracked for the stable release:

  • Performance: The mod may cause slowdowns on low-end CPUs.
  • World Scanner: Manual scan mode can occasionally stall or fail to complete. Restarting the scan usually resolves it.
  • Dimension Sync (Nether/Overworld): Rare desync events or failed chunk transfers between dimensions are still possible.
  • Fabric Version: The Fabric build may exhibit unexpected behavior in certain cases. If you encounter issues specific to Fabric, please report them separately.
  • Ocean Chunk Spawner: May not behave as intended in all cases, occasionally spawning land chunks instead of ocean chunks.
