GameStages mod that imported to 1.21.1

Description

GameStages for NeoForge 1.21.1 is a progression framework mod that allows modpack creators to lock, unlock and organize content behind player stages. It is a port of the classic GameStages concept for modern NeoForge, designed for packs that want structured progression, gated gameplay and milestone-based advancement.

Features

This mod adds a stage system that can assign progression stages to players. A stage is a named unlock, such as phase_1nether_unlockedmagic_started or endgame. Modpack creators can use these stages as progression flags to track what a player has achieved.

Stages can be granted or removed through commands, scripts, datapacks or other compatible mods. This makes it possible to build custom progression paths where players unlock new content after completing quests, defeating bosses, reaching dimensions or crafting important items.

The mod provides the foundation for staged gameplay. Other mods and datapacks can check whether a player has a specific stage and then allow or deny access to content. This is useful for locking recipes, items, dimensions, mechanics or quest chapters when combined with companion mods such as item or recipe staging systems.

GameStages also supports multiplayer-friendly progression. Each player can have their own set of unlocked stages, allowing progression to be personal instead of global. This helps servers and cooperative packs support different players progressing at different speeds.

Player Experience

For players, GameStages creates a more guided and rewarding progression experience. Instead of every item, recipe or mechanic being available from the beginning, content can unlock naturally as the player advances through the pack. For example, a player might start with basic survival tools, unlock magic after completing an early questline, gain access to advanced machinery after defeating a boss, and reach late-game equipment only after earning the required stage.

This makes progression feel more meaningful. Boss kills, quests and major achievements can become real milestones that change what the player can craft, use or explore. It also helps large modpacks feel less overwhelming because content can be introduced step by step.

For Modpack Creators

GameStages is mainly designed as a tool for modpack developers. It gives creators a simple but powerful way to track player progress and build custom progression systems. Whether a pack is themed around ages, chapters, classes, dimensions or boss tiers, stages can be used as the backbone for that structure.

Themes

This port focuses on progression control, milestone-based unlocks, RPG-style advancement, modpack structure and server-friendly player progression. It is intended for NeoForge 1.21.1 packs that need a modern staging system for controlled gameplay progression.
