Fragmented Skins


This mod requires GeckoLib to function due to its models and animations. This mod is also best run with a VHS shader on at the same time, as it is about the dark, older vibe of Minecraft, like Minecraft Beta and whatnot.

Fragmented Skins is about a mod that adds horror creatures of varying sizes.


Major Update Log:

Version 1.2: Changed a lot of functions in his code with a bunch of major nerfs to make him more playable and less repetitive in his events he currently has.



The one we call Fragmented Steve lurks within distortion. He looks familiar, yet so wrong. They watch you from a distance, always watching, always learning what they once were… and what they’ll never be again. Jealous, hungry, and drawn to you, they seek you out. Sometimes they run away, but they will return. In this world, survival is about being left alone. If you can. So you'd best keep to yourself if you want to live past this disoriented reality.




This entity is still in the works, and so are the others. This mod is all about the psychological horrors and paranoia.

Because this mod is in Beta, he is not fully fleshed out at the moment. I will be adding more and more features to him in due time.

He currently works on a nighttime/cave lighting system. You will find him most in the caves due to his spawning patterns. 

The AI I have built for him is very in line with getting to the player once it sees you, so you'd best stay away from its gaze.



He also has a couple more spawn conditions, but I don't want to spoil too much. If you want to spoil yourself, though, you can check out the end of the page, where I have a spoiler wall. I will also have a spoiler wall of current features and planned features he will have.

Spoilers:

This Entity, Fragmented Steve, currently has this many events and features he can do:

When he collides with the player, he has a chance of not disappearing like usual at 20%.
If you are close to him spawning, he will play a custom cave noise sound effect and give you darkness.
Whenever he kills you, he disappears.
You have a chance of getting other side effects when getting the Paranoia effect at a really low level.
When breaking a block, you have less than a 10% chance of having the paranoia effect afterwards.
When placing a block, you have a less than really low chance of an air block replacing it. (sorry if that's annoying)
He has a really low chance of spawning when you right-click something.
You get the Paranoia effect from eating his eye.
When he finishes mining a false diamond block, he will spawn on it. It has a clear indication that it's false.
When you start mining it, you will get a darkness effect loop.
When placing cobblestone, you will get the advancement "We See You".
When getting a diamond, you will get the advancement "We Want You".
When you achieve the "We Want You," You will get a cursing from Fragmented Steve. For future versions, this will enable his phase 2 if it exists. You also get the paranoia effect.
He has a chance of disappearing on attacking him, although not fully tested, as it's the newest feature to him, it will also deal damage back to you.
Sound 1 has a really low chance of playing after an item is crafted.
Sound 2 has a really low chance of playing after an item is crafted.
Sound 3 has a really low chance of playing after an item is crafted.
Sound 4 has a really low chance of playing after an item is crafted.



Planned Features:

Fragmented Steve is also planned to have these features for future versions. Remember, all of this is not final:

I plan to have a version of him that just stares and disappears after looking.
I plan to add more sound effects to him and his doings.
I plan to add, maybe, a structure that can encompass him with things like scientific details.
I plan to add Phase 2 to his system once you get the "We Want You" Advancement.
Phase 2 will have loads of features in it, the main one will be the 2 separate entities at once that make him up.
Phase two will disable phase 1 from spawning on the surface at night.
More functions to improve his spawning near the player without as many spawns.
