# For The Void 0.5.1 Beta
Forge / Minecraft 1.20.1. Replace the previous For The Void JAR. Clients and server must use this version together (visual protocol changed).
- Added approved Default, Assassin and Bruiser cosmetic claws, exported directly from the web preview. Assassin has backward-facing barbs; Bruiser has thin added armor, spines and orange-red shading.
- Claws follow player arms and open/fold during Q. Client config `showClaws` hides cosmetics without changing combat.
- Optional Player Animator support, compiled against 1.0.2-rc1+1.20. With it, Q plays a two-arm cross slash and recovery. Without it, claws still open/fold but custom arm motion is omitted. The library is not bundled and is not required by the server.
- Q now reserves cooldown on activation and strikes after 13 ticks (0.65 seconds at 20 TPS). It locks the initially aimed target, then rechecks life, permission, distance and line of sight at impact. Damage formulas are unchanged; isolation is recalculated at impact. A missed strike still consumes cooldown. Death, changing branch/dimension, entering a cocoon or losing the origin cancels pending damage. Stale delayed strikes are discarded.
- Successful impact emits the existing slash visual and sound together. Animation is sent to tracking clients and the caster. Local cosmetic playback is subject to network latency.
Verification: compilation, deterministic combat/passive checks, remapping, archive integrity and packaged assets passed. Real-library clip probe verified finite playback and unkeyed body/legs. A separate class-loading probe passed with Player Animator absent.
