CURSE OF THE CALLER UPDATE
Fixes and Changes:
- Updated to 1.16.5.
- Mobs spawned by Evil Eye effect should spawn in a circle radius around the player now
- Magical Wands are cheaper to craft.
- Previous Magical Items now have their Soul Costs and Casting Duration increased.
- Magical Items that summon Minions now give a new debuff to users called Summon Down, more info in the Additions section.
- Vex minions now follow their summoners.
- Minor graphic change on Magical Items (The top parts now display new spell icons rather than an item)
- Fix crafting recipes for certain Magical Items (Biting Wands and Staff of Endless Jaws use new item, Savage Tooth, rather than Raw Mutton for instance).
- Rearranged item placement in Creative Menu (Wands before Staffs).
- Shrine of Porcus should render correctly (Still W.I.P)
- Caller entity now has a purpose and naturally spawns in new Profaned Shrine structures.
- Caller entity becomes immune to all damage and gains a shield when a Tailless Druid is nearby. Shows Boss bar when no longer invulnerable.
- Tailless Druids, once near a Caller entity, would start praying towards it, not attacking any mobs or moving once doing it. Will stop praying once taken any form of damage.
- Black Bulls move faster and now drops Raw Beef.
- Witch Bomb recipe only gives one Witch Bomb instead of two.
Additions:
Blocks:
- Added Cursed Stones, Bricks, and Tiles blocks, slabs and stairs. Cursed Stones are currently crafted by putting a Totem of Souls and a Stone Block in the Crafting Table (don’t worry, your Totem won’t be used up).
- Added Cursed Bars and Cursed Cage. Cursed Bars are crafted using Cursed Ingots and Cursed Cage are crafted using the former. Currently has no use other than decoration.
- Cursed Totem blocks can be found throughout the Minecraft World as part of a Totem structure or a Profaned Shrine or be crafted in Crafting Tables with a Totem of Souls and Chiseled Cursed Stones.
Structures:
- Added Cursed Totem structures which can be found doted around the Minecraft world. A Totem has a Head that can either harm all entities by spawning an Evoker Fang on them, or mutate Cows, Chickens, Sheeps and Pigs around them. Can be deactivated by breaking any Totem blocks up to three blocks below the Head or break the Head Block itself. Breaking the Head Totem block does not drop itself, only experience like Spawners.
- Added Profaned Shrines. Profaned Shrines contains the Caller entity, and spawns an array of hostile mobs and Meteors around its radius.
Mobs:
- Added Zombie and Skeleton Servants. New minions spawned using a Necroturge Wand and Osseous Wand respectively. When wearing Necro Armor, these servants won’t take damage periodically after a certain number ticks like Vexes, and have new abilities such as turning zombies into more Zombie Servants or giving mobs the new Hosted effect.
- Added Mutated mobs. Mutated Mobs are made when a Cow, Chicken, Sheep or Pig is near a Totem with an Eldritch Totem Head. Can either drop a handful of Rotten Flesh or a Mutated Meat, which can be eaten 16 times and erases more hunger than the meat it’s based on. Killing a Mutated mob can potentially spawn a handful of Parasites.
- Added Parasites. Parasites spawned from Mutated mobs will attack most mobs, while those spawned from Hosted effect will only attack the mob that has that effect. Each of their attack has a chance of giving their targets the Hosted effect.
- Added Channellers. Much like Witches, they’re not illagers so Tailless mobs won’t attack them. They channel a beam towards a hostile mob where they get Speed and Resistance effects. The damage done to them are halved when channelling a mob, and will heal by siphoning health from the mob. Currently found in Profaned Shrines when a Caller is active.
- Added Scorches. Scorches are spawn when a Meteor lands and explodes. They attack all non-nether and non-Tailless mobs.
Items:
- Added Necroturge's Wand, Staff of Rotting Flesh, Osseous Wand and Staff of Walking Bones. First two items spawns new Zombie Servants while the last two spawns Skeleton Servants.
- Added Crippling Wand and Staff of Limping Limbs. They give all mobs surrounding the user Slowness and Weakness after being casted.
- Added Dark Robes and Dark Helms. When wearing a Dark Robe, reduce Soul Cost of Magical items by half. When wearing a Dark Helm, reduce Casting Duration of using Magical items by half. Crafted using Black, Yellow Wool and Lapis Lazuli.
- Added Necro Robes and Necro Helms. Gives same benefits as the above, but Necro Robes allows Zombie and Skeleton Servants to have their special abilities and Necro Helms stop them from dying off like Vexes. Crafted using a Smithing Table by combining a Dark Robe/Helm with a Skeleton Skull.
- Added Cursed Iron. Crafted using a Totem of Souls and an Iron ingot (much like the cursed blocks, will not use up the totem)
- Added Empty Core and Crippling Core. Currently use to make Crippling Wands and Staff of Limping Limbs.
- Added Rift Shard. A Rift Shard is dropped by the Caller mob. Currently use to craft a Philosopher’s Stone
- Added Philosopher’s Stone. Gives two gold ingots when crafted with one, though it uses up durability each time it does.
- Added Savage Tooth. Craft using a Totem of Souls and a Bone Block. Used to craft Biting Wands and Staff of Endless Jaws.
Effects:
- Added Summon Down Effect. Doubles the Soul Cost of magical items, bypassing the Dark/Necro Robe discount. Amplifies when summoning a minion when still having this effect, increasing the Soul Cost even further.
- Added Hosted Effect. Any mob that has the effect periodically spawns a Parasite that only attacks the mob in question.
- Added Gold Touch Effect. Any mob that has the effect drops gold nuggets upon death. Currently there’s no way of giving this effect to mobs other than commands.
Future Plans:
- Add Config to the mod.
- Implement a proper way of crafting Cursed items and blocks.
- Change the way Wands and Staffs work by allowing the Player to change Spells on their magical item rather than have individual items.
- Expand Necroturgy magic concept.
- Properly implement Gold Touch Effect.
- Change Project to use Parchment.
- Improve Mobs
- Add a new way to obtain Blaze Cores.
- Give purpose to Padre and Mocking Effigies.
- Reveal the purpose of a certain Boss.
