Description

📼 Fathomcraft

A Minecraft Fabric mod (1.21.1) designed for an upcoming immersive, narrative horror episode. Strongly inspired by "Bodycam" and "Fears to Fathom" aesthetics, this mod completely transforms the gameplay experience by adding realistic mechanics, visual filters, and urban blocks.

🔦 Main Features

  • Bodycam Overlay & VHS Filter: A custom UI displaying an "AXON BODY 3" overlay with real-time date/time and a recording indicator. A full VHS shader (lens distortion, chromatic aberration, static noise) is automatically applied in Survival mode.
  • Dynamic Flashlight: A flashlight (Key F) with an organic behavior. It procedurally flickers and simulates slight malfunctions to build tension.
  • Immersion & Movement:
    • Camera Inertia: Adds a feeling of "weight" to the player's head movements.
    • Weapon Sway: Procedural swaying of the hand and held items based on breathing and movement.
    • Vanilla footstep sounds are disabled to allow for better custom sound design.
  • Realistic Inventory (Survival): The inventory is severely restricted. Only 2 slots are usable, the mouse wheel is limited, and picking up items is blocked if your hands are full. The vanilla HUD (health, hunger) is hidden in favor of a minimalist inventory bar that slides into view when needed.
  • Narrative System:
    • A dialogue manager with a "typewriter" effect to make characters speak.
    • Invisible Story Triggers that can be placed in the world (revealed via the Trigger Remover item) to trigger events when the player walks through them.
  • Entity Censor: Hostile mobs are hidden behind a black censor box that adapts to their size, reinforcing the "found footage" vibe.
  • New Decorative Blocks: Perfect for run-down urban environments: Old Chairs, Worn Overhead Lights (with a pale, sickly glow), Damaged Bricks, Crosswalks, Floor Tiles, etc.
