The new Update 1.1.0 is in the works. This beta as a few new things:

Blobs: New creatures that you can hatch. They prove to be helpful.

Deep Shattered: Be careful in the Shattered. You can't get back out, so bring an ender chest.

Hydrogen Ore: Requires a chilly new pickaxe. Useful for Blob craftings.

Amalgomite Ore: An unstable ore. It may turn into the ingot in your offhand when held.
