Description
Extra Expansions
As of the 1.4.1 update, my other mod, Quicksilver, is NO LONGER REQUIRED. Most Silver functionality was ported to Extra Expansions, therefore, Quicksilver will now only have duplicate items and blocks, so you no longer need it installed.
The Nether and End update has released!
The current largest update for a mod I have made so far, the Nether and End update is a "Chapter Update", a themed update that is much larger than usual. The Nether and End update adds new blocks, decorative ores and plants to the Nether and the End, slightly filling in some more lackluster parts of the dimensions. This mod is meant to be played with other mods that expand Minecraft further, so add whatever other dimension-enhancing mods you'd like! This update will continue to be expanded as time goes on, so look forward to even more new features!
Extra Expansions is a mod that just adds anything and everything I felt like could improve Minecraft in a vanilla+ fashion. I am trying to add a lot of content to this mod while trying to keep quality as the top priority. If you find any issues or incompatabilities while using this mod, please let me know in the comments. This mod is a work in progress, and I will be changing, revamping, and adding to it as time goes on.
Content:
Ores
- Overworld Quartz Ore: Stone + Deepslate variants. Gives Nether Quartz without experience when mined, spawns commonly.
- Experience Ore: Only spawns in the Main Island and Small End Islands in the End dimension, drops a large amount of XP when destroyed, spawns commonly.
- Xyllium Ore (ZY-lee-um): Only spawns in the Outer Islands of the End, drops Raw Xyllium, which can be smelted into ingots and made into blocks, spawns commonly.
- Carmotite Ore: Only spawns in the Basalt Deltas and Soul Sand Valleys of the Nether, drops Raw Carmotite, which can be smelted into ingots and made into blocks, spawns commonly.
- Silver Ore: An ore about as common as Gold, can be made into a cool colored blockset, will spawn more commonly in cold biomes in the future.
Blocks and Items
- Electrum: An electrifying alloy made by blasting a Gold and Silver Ingot, made by combining Gold and Silver. Currently, you can craft a blockset for building with it, as well as an apple that gives you the Shocking status effect, which will damage enemies that attack you, similar to thorns. It is also compatible with the Electrum Gear Mod.
- Rose Gold: A very rosy alloy made by blasting a Gold and Copper Ingot, can craft a blockset and an apple with the powerful ability of making you immune to explosions temporarily.
- Glowing Glass: A special type of glass made with Glow Ink Sacs that gives off light, also has a pane variant.
- Charcoal Block: A simple storage block for the fuel that needs it, Charcoal! It can be used as furnace fuel to smelt 80 items.
- Pearl: A hard to obtain item dropped by Elder Guardians, can be used to craft tridents.
- Emerald Apple: A new food made by surrounding an Apple with Emeralds, grants Health Boost when eaten, best used during pre-gapping, eaten before the Golden Apple, so you will gain extra hearts, then regenerate them with the Golden Apple.
- Chorus Carrot: An endgame food that gives more use to Chorus Fruit, Surrounding a Golden Carrot with Chourus Fruit creates this super-filling food item.
- Potions: Extra Expansions adds 6 new potion items, with splash, lingering and arrow variants for vanilla effects that were previously unobtainable exept through mobs, beacons, Suspicious Stew or just unobtainable. How to craft the Potions (currently does not show in JEI): Levitation: Shulker Shell. Blindness: Sculk. Luck: Emerald. Unluck: Fermented Spider Eye combined with Luck Potion. Haste: Amethyst Shard. Fatigue: Fermented Spider Eye combined with Haste.
- Silver Expansions: Extra Expansions adds a cut blockset for Silver, so that it can match the other metals, and the Magnetic Compass, crafted with Silver and an Ender Pearl, which will always point North.
- Metal Improvements: Iron, Gold, Rose Gold, Electrum and Silver, as well as two new metals coming soon, have new cut block, stair, and slab variants, similar to Copper. All mentioned metals, including Copper, also have Metal Ladders that you can make from them.
- Giant Chains: Big chains crafted with four Iron Ingots and one Iron Nugget, can be climbed.
- Flameshrooms: Fiery Mushrooms spawning in the Nether Wastes, can be crafted into Flameshroom Stew, which, when eaten, deals two hearts of fire damage then grants Fire Resistance for two minutes.
- Endshrooms: Purple Mushrooms that spawn in the outer islands of the End, can be crafted into Endshroom Stew, which grants Slow Falling and Night Vision for two minutes when eaten.
- Blazing Sprouts: A new fiery yellow grass found spawning in patches in the Nether Wastes, stepping on it will inflict one half heart of fire damage, thus making the Nether Wastes more dangerous. Because of it's burning properties, it is a crucial ingredient to the very spicy Flameshroom Stew.
- Chorus Sprouts: A simple short grass that grows on the Outer Islands, currently no use exept for decor.
- Voidstone: A very dark purple stone that spawns in patches and tall spires throughout the Outer Islands. It has stair, slab and wall variants for the base block, as well as polished, bricks and chisled variants.
- Choruswood: A new wood type from purple trees found around the Outer Islands. It has a full blockset, as well as a sapling and a new light source, the Chorus Bulb, which grows on the trees.
- Azure Wood: A wood type found (a bit rarer than Choruswood) in trees in the Outer Islands, has a full blockset, a sapling, and the Azure Bulb light source.
- End Sap: A new Resin-like material obtained occasionally by stripping Azure Logs, it can be crafted into a storage block that can always be broken instantly, or smelted into bricks to make brick blocks, tile blocks, pillars and the new End Sap Lamp, crafted with four bricks and one block of Glowstone.
Tools
- The Hook: A mid- to late-game weapon crafted with two Netherite Scraps, has the ability to stun whatever it hits for 0.5 seconds, useful for PvP.
- Pickaxe Axe: A mid- to late-game tool crafted with a Netherite Scrap, a multitool that can mine slightly slower then other tools of the same rank, can be upgraded to the Netherite Pickaxe Axe, a faster and better version of the original.
- Redstone Drill: Another mid- to late-game tool crafted with Redstone, Iron and a Netherite Scrap. It can be right clicked to drill through mineable blocks instantly, but only the upgraded version, the Netherite Drax, can drill through Obsidian, Wood and Earth. (such as Gravel, Sand, ect.) Can be enchanted with pickaxe enchantments and a new enchant called Drilling, which decreases drill cooldown.
