Equivalent Legacy

Equivalent Legacy brings the classic Equivalent Exchange-style gameplay to modern Minecraft (26.2 / NeoForge): assign an EMC (Energy-Matter-Currency) value to items, transmute them into each other, and progress through the Philosopher's Stone toolchain.

What's new

v1.7.2 - The Alchemist's Codex now shows up in the creative tabs, and its cover reads as a book

Art and data release for Minecraft 26.2 / NeoForge 26.2.0.57. No Java, no new item, no EMC or balance changes.

Fixed

  • The Alchemist's Codex appeared in no creative tab of its own. Its book definition declared "creative_tab": "equivalent_legacy:projecte", but no tab is registered under that id. PECreativeTabs creates the tab through CreativeTabDeferredRegister.registerMain, which uses the namespace as the name, so the real id is equivalent_legacy:equivalent_legacy. Vellumli resolves that key with CreativeModeTabRegistry.getTab(...), got null, and since evt.getTab() is never null the comparison could never succeed — the book was never added to any tab. It was only reachable through vanilla's Search tab. The key now points at the real id, in both branches.
  • The Codex cover was declared with the wrong model path for this branch. Vellumli's 26.2 Book constructor reads the model key verbatim (Book.java:128), while the 1.21.1 one appends the item/ prefix to it (Book.java:114). The book definition carried "model": "equivalent_legacy:guide", which only resolves on 1.21.1, so on 26.2 the book fell back to the shared generic cover. It now reads "model": "equivalent_legacy:item/guide", the form this branch needs.

Changed

  • The Codex cover has been redrawn so it reads as a book. The new cover (assets/equivalent_legacy/textures/item/guide.png, 128 opaque px, 7 colours) is a landscape tome with a smooth spine and gold corner pieces at the vertices — which is what breaks the rectangle — and the transmutation mark as a flat-based gold triangle with its detached bar underneath. The frame is garnet; orange #ce743b dropped from 22 px to 4, because ringing the whole body in it read as an orange cushion.
  • It used to be a 14×13 landscape rectangle with an orange frame and a hollow rhombus at the centre, which read as a gem rather than a book at 1×. All three guide books in the pack are now told apart by silhouette and not by tint alone.

Notes

Texture, model and one book-definition key only. No new item, no new registry entry, no Java changes. The Alchemist's Codex is still crafted the same way (book + low_covalence_dust) and still granted once per player on login. EMC values are untouched.
To confirm the tab fix in game, open the creative inventory and look at the Equivalent Legacy tab: the Codex is now there alongside the Philosopher's Stone. Before this version it only turned up if you typed its name into Search.
This branch shares its cover texture with the 1.21.1 branch, which ships the same art as 1.1.8.
