The mod is fully customizable. All this is configured in the command (see below). 
To restore thirst, you should drink drinking water (water bottle on the fire). You can get Anti-Thirst effect, which reduces thirst wasting. Or Fast Thirst effect, which increases thirst spending (you need any fish for crafting (see crafting in images). 

The water texture is taken from the mod Thirst Was Taken

Command Settings 🛠️ 

The /thirst command is responsible for setting up the mod.

Parameters:

• HEALTH - HEALTH_NUM (sets spending hearts to a tick when thirst is 0)
•  LOCATE - LOCATE_MES (responsible for the overlay location on the player's screen (right, left or top)
• MAX - NUM_MAX (sets maximum thirst)
• SET - NUM (sets the value of thirst)
• VARS - shows the value of variables
• WASTE - NUM_WASTE (sets the value of thirst spending)
• DEFAULT - resets variable data to default (MAX_THIRST - 20, LOCATE - right, WASTE - 0.03, _HEALTH - 0.0125)
