First, the justification. With 1.19 I can't help but notice the visual similarities the end portal frame textures have to the ancient city features. The shape of the big 'portal' looks very similar to the texture on the upper half of the sides of the end portal frames. Also, the texture of the portal itself has a sort of sculk-like look to it and the overall color scheme of both the frames and the portal is similar. Given the speculation on in-game lore it also seems appropriate. Here is my proposed recipe:
Change the warden drop from a 'sculk catalyst' to a 'warden core' (can keep the same visual appearance as a sculk catalyst).
Have a vertical crafting pattern as follows;
Echo Shard
Warden Core
Cobblestone (cobby texture is the same as end stone after all)
The recipe should produce one end portal frame, this keeps it from being an OP way of avoiding finding a stronghold since you need twelve to make an active portal. You'd still need eyes of ender to activate it of course.
