eclipsegate-1.0.1 Beta.jar
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
1.0.1 Beta
New: anonymous usage stats (optional, opt-out)
- The first time the game starts, an Eclipse Gate Usage Stats screen explains what can be sent and lets you choose: anonymous usage stats (a random install ID, the Eclipse Gate, Minecraft, Forge and Java versions, client or server, and OS family, once per game start) and crash reports for crashes Eclipse Gate caused (with your user name and folder paths removed). Change it any time from Eclipse Gate menu > Usage Stats.
- Dedicated servers use
config/eclipsegate-stats.properties(on by default; the server log says how to turn it off). - Nothing personal is ever sent: no names, accounts, IP addresses, worlds or chat.
Changed
- Removed landmark discovery: walking into a structure no longer posts a "Discovered … at" chat message or adds a Xaero's Minimap waypoint. The
world.discovery_waypointsconfig option is gone.
Main menu
- The Eclipse Gate panel on the title screen is now one big button. Click it (or Tab to it and press Enter) to open the Eclipse Gate screen, laid out like Options: What's New, Villager AI Setup, All Settings (with Configured), Open Config Folder, Usage Stats, and the Guide, Patreon and Discord links. The menu itself is tidier: just the badge, name, version and tagline.
New: more creatures
- Glowmoth: a glowing moth with cyan eyespots that flutters over the glades and groves. Harmless; sometimes drops Glowstone Dust.
- Moonhound: a silver wolf of the Duskwood with a glowing crescent on its brow. Neutral like a wolf, runs in packs, and can be tamed with bones. Its eyes turn blue when tame and red when angry.
- Moonshade: a small spectral spirit that haunts the caves deep underground, drifting through stone. Its cold touch slows you. Drops amethyst shards and sometimes a Star Fragment.
- The Eclipse Warden's Field Guide entry now unlocks as soon as you wake it at the Lunar Altar, so you can read about it during the fight (Field Guide normally only unlocks bosses once they're dead). All three new creatures have Field Guide entries too.
- Moonroot can now also be discovered in the Field Guide by harvesting the crop or picking up a Moonroot, not only by scanning it.
New: Moon Fire and the Moon Campfire
- Use a Moon Shard on the ground to kindle Moon Fire: a cold silver-blue flame that burns forever, never spreads or burns anything, lights the area at full brightness, and makes anything that touches it glow.
- Moon Campfire: crafted like a campfire with Duskwood logs. Burns with Moon Fire, cooks food like a campfire, signals with hay beneath it, and lights with a Moon Shard.
New: the Telescope
- Place it and look through it to watch the Hollow's sky. Zoom from 2x to 16x with the Up/Down arrow keys (rebindable under Controls > Eclipse Gate) or the mouse wheel. While you watch, stars fall three times as often, each one is pointed out and outlined as it falls, and the telescope records where it lands.
- Star Chart: sneak and use a Book on a telescope to get a chart linked to it. It updates itself every time the telescope records a star while you carry it, and opens to an illustrated map of every landing around the telescope (with an arrow showing where you are and which way you face) plus a list of every sighting with coordinates. Craft a blank one from a Book and a Star Fragment.
- In every Lunar Observatory: a working Telescope now stands on the roof, and the upper chest holds the Old Observatory Star Chart, already linked to that telescope and marked with a few stars the Order's astronomer saw fall. Keep watching through the roof telescope and the chart keeps filling in. (Only in newly generated observatories.)
- Crafted from a spyglass, Lunarite and sticks, or bought from Astronomers. It keeps its log when broken, works with comparators, and comes with the Stargazer advancement.
New: more lore
- Seven new books to find in chests, bringing the total to 18 (17 found at random, plus Archivist Lyra's castle book in every observatory). Four come from the Wayfinders, travellers from the Overworld who came through the portal after the Order vanished: Kai's Wayfinder's Journal, Val's Kitchen Notes, Xari's Notes on the Turning Sky and Hulky's Field Report (Bruises Included). The others are a Bestiary of the Hollow, the Hymn of the Turning Sky and the Sayings of the Lunar Folk.
- The Lunar Folk's AI chat now knows about the galaxy sky, the new animals and monsters, Moonroot farming and the Wayfinders.
New: a galaxy sky
- The Moonlit Hollow's sky is now a slowly turning galaxy: a glowing band of violet and teal nebulae with a warm core and thousands of stars, turning once every 20 minutes. A layer of brighter stars drifts at its own pace and twinkles. The full moon still hangs overhead, the sky fades into the fog at the horizon, and there are no clouds to hide it.
New: farming in the Hollow
- Dusk Dirt: the ashen soil beneath the Duskwood Forest. Dusk Grass now grows on it and drops it.
- Dusk Farmland: till Dusk Dirt or Dusk Grass with a hoe. Any crop grows on it, and it dries and tramples back into Dusk Dirt.
- Moonroot: a pale root crop of the Lunar Folk. Plant it on any farmland; it grows faster on Dusk Farmland, and ripe Moonroot glows faintly. Eat it raw or bake it.
- Baked Moonroot: smelt, smoke or campfire-cook a Moonroot. Fills like a baked potato, with a chance of 20 seconds of Night Vision.
- Lunar Hamlet farms now grow Moonroot (Duskwood hamlets on Dusk Farmland), hamlet chests can hold a few, and Herbalists buy and sell Moonroot and sell Dusk Dirt.
- Moonroot can be composted, and bees help it grow.
- Moonroot Stew: 2 Moonroot, a Glowcap and a Potato. 10 hunger and 3 minutes of Night Vision, stacks to 16.
New: animals of the Hollow
- Moonhorn: a slow, midnight-blue grazer with silver flecks, glowing eyes and a crescent on its brow. Lives in the Glowcap Glade, Hollow Woods and Duskwood Forest. Breed it with Moonroot and milk it with a bucket. Drops Raw Moonhorn and leather.
- Glimmerfowl: a small teal bird with glowing feather tips. Lives in the Glimmering Grove, Glowcap Glade and Hollow Woods. Breed it with Glowcaps. It flutters down instead of falling and sometimes sheds Glowstone Dust. Drops Raw Glimmerfowl and feathers.
- Moonhorn Steak (8 hunger, 15 s of Resistance) and Roasted Glimmerfowl (6 hunger, 20 s of Slow Falling): cook them in a furnace, smoker or campfire. Both animals drop cooked meat if they die on fire.
- Spawn eggs for both.
- Moonhare: a quick silver hare of the meadows. Breed it with Moonroot or carrots. Drops Raw Moonhare (cook it for 5 hunger and 20 s of Speed), rabbit hide and sometimes a Rabbit's Foot.
- Starfin: a navy fish with glowing golden fins that schools in the Hollow's lakes and rivers. Catch it in a bucket. Drops Raw Starfin (cook it for 5 hunger and 30 s of Water Breathing).
New: hostile mobs
- Moonbound Archer: the Lunar Order's skeletal bowmen. Their arrows make you glow and slow you. Drops bones, arrows, sometimes Spectral Arrows and rare Lunarite.
- Shardling: a crystal creeper grown from a fallen star. Its burst leaves blinding starlight hanging in the air. Drops gunpowder and Star Fragments.
- Nightwing: a starry flier that circles the Hollow's sky and dives at you like a phantom. Drops Phantom Membrane and sometimes a Star Fragment.
- The Lunar Folk run from Archers, Shardlings and Moonshades too.
New: Field Guide compatibility (optional)
- Every Hollow creature, plant and tree has a Field Guide entry with its own description: the animals and Lunar Folk as Animals, the Hollow's monsters as Monsters, and the Eclipse Warden as a Boss (defeat it to unlock).
- Glowcaps, Moonroot and the Moonwood, Glimmerwood and Duskwood trees appear under Plants, with 3D tree previews.
- The Lunar Folk are listed in all four Hollow biomes, and large creatures are scaled to fit the page.
New: Farmer's Delight compatibility (optional)
- Cooking Pot recipes for Moonroot Stew (which then also gives 3 minutes of Comfort) and Glowcap Stew. Without Farmer's Delight, Moonroot Stew is crafted instead.
- Cutting Board: strip Moonwood, Glimmerwood and Duskwood logs and wood for Tree Bark.
- Moonroot grows on Rich Soil Farmland, Glowcaps activate Organic Compost, and both stews are tagged as meals.
- Moonhorn meat counts as beef and Glimmerfowl as chicken in its recipes (Beef Stew, Chicken Soup…), and the knife cuts them into Minced Beef and Chicken Cuts.
JEI
- New information pages for the Telescope, Star Chart, Moon Shard, Moon Campfire, Dusk Dirt and Dusk Farmland, Moonroot and Moonroot Stew.
Fixes
- Fixed the Moonlit Hollow freezing the server. Lunar Hamlets created their Astronomers' map trades while the chunk was still generating, which searched for Castle Nocturne and loaded hundreds of chunks at once. The server froze for a minute or more at a time, so chests, crafting tables, the Stargate and every other screen stopped opening. Map trades are now drawn the first time you open an Astronomer's trades.
- Moonweavers no longer look like they're grinning. Their eyes now sit in straight rows over two dark fangs, and vanilla's red spider eyes no longer draw on top of them.
- Telescope and Star Chart: sneak-using a Book or Star Chart on a telescope now links the chart instead of just opening it, and works from the off hand too.
