# Dragon Command Addon for Ice and Fire

## Overview

The Dragon Command Addon is a powerful extension for the Ice and Fire: Dragons mod that gives you precise control over your tamed dragons' combat behavior. Command your dragons to attack specific areas with customizable targeting options, turning them into devastating area-control weapons.

## Features

### Area Attack Commands
Command your tamed dragon to attack all entities within a specified area. Simply open the command interface, set your target coordinates and radius, and watch your dragon systematically eliminate threats.

### Intuitive GUI Interface
- **Coordinate Input**: Set exact X, Y, Z coordinates for attack center point
- **Quick Position Button**: "My Pos" button instantly fills in your current location
- **Radius Control**: Define attack radius from 1-100 blocks (default 40)
- **Visual Feedback**: Clean, organized interface with inline filter buttons

### Smart Entity Filtering
Choose exactly what your dragon should attack with toggleable filters:
- **Hostile Mobs**: Target zombies, skeletons, creepers, and other monsters
- **Passive Animals**: Attack cows, pigs, chickens, and other peaceful creatures
- **Villagers**: Include or exclude villagers from targeting
- **Players**: Enable PvP dragon attacks (use with caution!)
- **Other Tameable**: Target wolves, cats, horses, and other tamed animals

### Continuous Attack System
Once commanded, your dragon won't stop until the job is done:
- Automatically finds and attacks all matching entities in the area
- Moves to next target after each kill
- Continues until area is cleared
- Smart targeting prevents getting stuck on obstacles

### Override Dragon States
The command system overrides Ice and Fire's normal dragon behavior:
- Forces dragon out of "sit" or "stay" mode
- Sets dragon to aggressive stance
- Enables pathfinding to targets
- Returns to normal behavior when attack is complete

### Mod Compatibility

## Use Cases

### Base Defense
Position your dragon to guard specific areas around your base. Command attacks on hostile spawn zones to keep your home safe.

### Mob Farming
Clear specific areas for mob farm efficiency. Target hostile mobs in designated zones without affecting passive animal farms.

### Large-Scale Clearing
Clear forests, caves, or dungeons by setting large radius attacks. Your dragon becomes a powerful terraforming ally.

### PvP Battles
(Server permission required) Use dragon area attacks in faction warfare or controlled PvP zones.

### Resource Gathering
Clear hostile mobs from mining areas or dangerous biomes before you venture in.

## Advanced Tips

### Effective Radius Sizing
- **Small Radius (10-20 blocks)**: Precise targeting, good for tight spaces
- **Medium Radius (30-50 blocks)**: Balanced coverage for most situations
- **Large Radius (60-100 blocks)**: Massive area control, may take time to clear

### Filter Combinations
- **Hostile Only**: Safest option for general use
- **Hostile + Villagers**: Raid clearing
- **All Passive**: Culling animal overpopulation
- **Everything**: Nuclear option for total area clearance

### Strategic Positioning
- Set attack coordinates above ground level for aerial advantage
- Use multiple commands in sequence for patrol routes
- Position near valuable resources to protect them

### Dragon Selection
- Fire dragons: Better for open areas and flammable targets
- Ice dragons: Effective in water or against fire-resistant mobs
- Lightning dragons: High damage output for tough enemies

## Important Notes

### Safety Warnings
- **Backup Saves**: Always backup before using in important worlds
- **Check Filters**: Double-check entity filters to avoid unwanted casualties
- **Collateral Damage**: Dragon attacks can destroy blocks and items
- **Player Targeting**: Be cautious enabling player filter on multiplayer servers

### Limitations
- Player must be within 50 blocks of dragon to issue commands
- Dragon must be tamed and owned by the command issuer
- Only one dragon responds per command
- Dragon follows Ice and Fire's AI between commands

### Performance Considerations
- Very large radius attacks (80+) may cause temporary lag
- Multiple simultaneous dragon commands may impact performance
- Reduce particle effects in video settings if experiencing slowdown

## Creative Mode Access

The Dragon Command Staff appears in three creative tabs:
- **Dragon Command Tab**: Dedicated mod tab
- **Tools and Utilities**: Found with other utility items
- **Combat Tab**: Available with combat equipment
