Description

Diversity Delight is an add-on for Farmer's Delight which expands on the crop variety and adds plenty of new food items to the game.
DISCLAIMER: Furniture and decorations in the gallery above are a part of Another Furniture, Farmer's Delight and Handcrafted mods.
🥦CROPS
There are twenty one new crops implemented in this add-on:
Bell Pepper, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Celery, Chili, Green Bean, Pea
Banana, Kiwi, Lemon, Mango, Orange, Pear, Pineapple
Almond, Corn, Oats, Peanut, Pistachio, Soy, Walnut

🍅ADDITIONAL FEATURES
- Worm Bin! Right-click with food scraps and watch it fill up. Over time the worm bin will deplete through the contents and bonemeal the area around it.
- Condiments. Apply these to a consumable item in your offhand and give a variety of nutritional bonuses! Ketchup gives extra nutrition and makes it faster to consume edible items. Mayonnaise rewards extra nutrition and saturation. Hot sauce gives temporary fire resistance. Marmalade gives extra nutrition and gives temporary immunity. Peanut butter also provides extra nutrition and gives temporary strength.
- Fruit Trees: grow saplings of fruit trees to grow your own fruits. You can cross-pollinate between different fruiting leaves blocks to influence their genetics and create fruiting leaves that are more productive. An in-depth explanation of this is provided down below.
- More Dish Effects - certain dishes will now provide a specific effect aside from the usual Comfort/Nourishment. These are shorter and less potent effects but are helpful for early-game alternatives for potions or specific situations.
- Seven new effects you can find in dishes! Enrichment - boosts gained experience. Gathering - increases the radius in which items can be picked up. Immunity - prevents negative status effects from being inflicted (only works against negative status effects of equal level to the immunity effect). Lightfooted - increases sneaking speed. Pungent (not on any dishes for now) - causes hostile mobs to flee from the player. Relaxed - increases block interaction range. Sturdy - increases resistance to knockback.
🐝CROSS-POLLINATION EXPLANATION:

WILD CROPS
Just like Farmer's Delight, crops must be found from their wild variants.
Wild Bell Pepper, Chili and Peanut can be found in hot biomes (e.g. savannas, jungles). Wild Broccoli, Cauliflower and Oats can be found in biomes with temperatures between 0.1 and 0.3 (e.g. taiga). Wild Celery, Corn, Green Bean and Soy can be found in biomes with temperatures between 0.4 and 0.9 (e.g. forests, plains, hills). Wild Pea can be found in beaches. Wild Kiwi and Pineapple can be found in jungle biomes.
Apple and Pear Trees can be found in forests or plains. Orange and Lemon Trees can be found in savannas. Banana and Mango Trees can be found in jungles. Almond Trees can be found in taiga biomes. Pistachio Trees can be found in birch forests. Walnut Trees can be foudn in dark oak forests.
WHAT'S NEXT: (Grains, Nuts and Legumes Update 20/04/26)
Retexturing still remains a priority. I'm slowly getting the hang of stylising textures in the Minecraft/FD style. But overall, I am quite satisfied with most of the crops. A lot of meals and dishes have been removed in this update for the sake of reducing clutter. When applying new effects to dishes and ensuring each crop has recipes that give unique effects, some crops were used way more than others. It was difficult to justify their purpose, so they were removed since there were already other dishes that were similar in balance and purpose. Moving forward, the plan is to have each crop have at least one recipe that is very easy to obtain (no effects and weaker nutrition), one that requires more processing or more demanding ingredients to obtain (either comfort/nourishment and better nutrition) and one that is primarily centred around the crop itself (has the unique effect). This system will be fleshed out in later updates, so this update is more of a sample of what's to come.
Cross-pollination should be a bit easier now as bees no longer go to flowers that are already pollinated, so players have more control in re-directing bees to another flower. I would also like to retexture many fruit trees as many textures are starting to be outdated. Another major rework that needs to be sorted out is the condiment rendering system. If players have not already noticed, the overlay render of condiments actually sticks out by a pixel-thin layer and can be noticed under certain lightings. Also considering that condiments should be one-time use rather than have durability so that they are stackable (just looks cleaner).
The next theme of crops will be looking at spices for both savory and sweet contexts!

Big thanks to vectorwing for creating Farmer's Delight!! https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/farmers-delight
SIDE NOTES:
The mod is as of now only been developed for NeoForge, but a Fabric version will be made once I have smoothened out the NeoForge version and squashed any bugs/issues. Backports are unlikely, but 1.20.1 is definitely for consideration in the future.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please leave a comment on the curseforge mod page here!
