A level of detail mod recently forked and allowing specific fixes and customisations

Description

What is Distant Horizons?

Distant Horizons is a level-of-detail (LOD) mod, with the original project found here that renders simplified terrain far beyond Minecraft's vanilla render distance. It creates low-detail representations of distant chunks, allowing players to see terrain hundreds or thousands of blocks away without the performance cost of fully rendering those chunks. This build is optimized for use cases where chunks are pre-generated or only to be generated with the full internal server during gameplay (e.g., via Chunky or localised real-time exploration), we make no promises whether the other lod generating modes are even functional.

As such it is not designed for general use, but specifically for the use cases of the Au Naturel 5 modpack.

Be aware that now, especially with the later versions recently updated, the scope of operations with this version of distant horizons is getting increasingly tighter and this code base is not designed for all possible uses.  All other code for all other versions of minecraft should have been eliminated from the codebase, including the code which even allows for the other lod generation options.  Use at your own risk, and only for forge 1.20.1.  Not yet fully tested on multi-player, and it is distinctly possible we broke something during the last removal of massive amounts of code to simplify away from other minecraft versions or loaders.

You are, however, free to use it as you see fit, in terms with the original licence.
