Welcome to Delicious Meals, a mod all about food, from stews to sweet treats.
The mod's core features include new crops and plants, such as the chilli pepper, corn, and vanilla flowers. Crop seeds are obtained by breaking grass, while plants like vanilla generate throughout the world. Salt is also a new mineral that drops salt crystals. Using a mortar and pestle, these can be ground to obtain salt.
There are basic but essential tools, such as the knife, the mortar, and the hourglass.
Vanilla mob drops are planned; for now, the mobs that drop new items are the bat, spiders (including cave spiders), and silverfish.
There are also decorative blocks, such as the kitchen floor and the charcoal block. Next are the production blocks, which produce some food or ingredient after interacting with it in some way. These blocks are:
- Stove: Right-click with a block of coal or charcoal, then use flint and steel to light it.
- Frying Pan: Cooks some foods in less time than the vanilla oven, but requires a lit stove underneath.
- Cutting Board: Right-click with a knife; the object you want to cut must be in your off-hand.
- Cooking Pot: Requires a lit stove underneath. The left slot is for salt or sugar, the six in the center are for ingredients, and the last slot is for the container (if it needs one).
- Cheese Mold: Must be filled with milk and salt. After 15 minutes, it will solidify, leaving a wheel of cheese. Right-click to remove it.
- Churn: Must be filled with milk and salt. After this, right-click to beat. After a few tries, you'll get butter and possibly cream.
- Fish Trap: Right-click on a bait. After a few minutes, you'll be able to collect whatever you caught, from fish to seaweed.
