Before you can enter the dimension, you must craft a Lighter. You can do so by placing 1 iron ingot and 1 flint & steel in a crafting recipe configuration as seen below:
You can also do this in your inventory as well (Inventory Crafting)
Now you need to find a Darklight Portal. You cannot build one yourself in Survival mode, the only way to find one is by finding a castle looking structure called the Darklight Gateway. There will be mobs waiting there to defend, so be ready to fight. The portal will be finished but unlit, simply right click the bottom of the portal frame (The same way you light a Nether Portal) with the Lighter to open the gateway between the Overworld and the Darklight Dimension!
