Cybernetics Vanity
Cybernetics Vanity is a NeoForge 1.21.1 companion addon for Create-Cybernetics. It adds a cosmetic control layer for your chrome: surgically install a Vanity Implant, open the Cyber Vanity menu, and hide or show cyberware visuals per installed implant including a master Cyber Vanity ON/OFF switch, Hide all / Show all, and a rotating player preview.
Inspired by cyberpunk “looks matter” energy and built for the Create-Cybernetics ecosystem. This is not Create-Cybernetics itself it is a vanity/companion addon mod that depends on it.

Features
- Vanity Implant — drops from villagers (configurable chance + Looting bonus), then install it in a SKIN cyberware slot via surgery
- Robosurgeon-style Cyber Vanity menu — keybind opens a menu with:
-
-
- - rotating player preview
- - per-implant show/hide for installed visual cyberware
- - master Cyber Vanity ON/OFF
- - Hide all / Show all
- - Done button to close
-
- First-person — vanity hides apply in FP as well as third-person
- Multiplayer sync — other players see your vanity state
- Soft compat:
- - Custom Player Models (CPM) — soft compat only; does not blanket-hide Create-Cybernetics chrome. On SHOW, chrome still renders. On HIDE, the mod skips limb-geometry fights with CPM. Full chrome seated cleanly on custom CPM bones remains a known limitation of how Create-Cybernetics binds overlays/attachments to vanilla
PlayerModelbones vanity does not invent a remount, and it does not suppress chrome just because CPM is present. (not required)
- Cyber Spells — soft compat; rune limb overlays hide when vanity hides those implants (not required)
- Cyberchems — optional addon in the ecosystem (not required)
- - Server config (
config/cyberneticsvanity-server.toml) - -
enableVillagerDrop— enable/disable villager drops - - drop chance, Looting bonus per level, max chance cap
- -
requireVanityImplant— require the implant (or allow free vanity) - -
allowedPermissionLevel— permission level gate for using Cyber Vanity

Requirements
NeoForge 1.21.1 is Required
Create-Cybernetics is Required (cyberware, surgery, skin overlays)
CPM / Cyber Spells / Cyberchems is optional soft/optional compat
---
Getting started
1. Install NeoForge 1.21.1, Create-Cybernetics, and this mod.
2. Kill villagers until you get a Vanity Implant (default ~12.5% chance, Looting helps; configurable).
3. Install the implant in a SKIN slot via Create-Cybernetics surgery.
4. Bind Open Cyber Vanity Menu in Controls → Cybernetics Vanity (default is unbound — set a key).
5. Use the Robosurgeon-style menu: toggle individual implants, master ON/OFF, or Hide all / Show all , then Done. Changes sync to other players.
Staff tip: set
requireVanityImplant = false in the server config if you want vanity available without the implant.

Notes / WIP
Cyberware visuals and third-party overlays can be finicky. Soft-compat paths are intentional (especially CPM / Cyber Spells).
CPM note: Create-Cybernetics skin overlays and 3D attachments bind to vanilla
PlayerModel bones. Cybernetics Vanity does not blanket-suppress chrome when CPM is installed SHOW still draws chrome; HIDE skips limb-geometry mutations that would fight CPM. Perfect chrome-on-custom-bones remounting is outside this addon’s scope and remains a known limitation of that binding model.
If something looks wrong with a specific implant or addon, report it with your mod list and whether you're in first- or third-person.
