Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks Addon for 1.20.1

Description

Covenant of the Seven is the revamped version of my other mod, Sanctified Legacy, building upon the previously planned 7 Rings. With its previous dependencies no more, this mod features its own unique Mana System for each of its rings catering to the different playstyles of different players.

A huge chunk of this mod is configurable, and while balance is something I have duly kept in mind for most of its items, the Divine Vessel item for each ring are deliberately meant to be unbalanced.

All items under this mod are configured to have an owner and may not be used nor equipped by any player that is not bound by this covenant.

A lot of things have changed since, most notably:

Conceptual Items [NEW]

These items are not curios, and thus cannot be accessed/removed/disabled by other mods that add such features. They can be used by inserting them in a special inventory, the Concept Inventory, accessible via a configurable keybind.

Concept Inventory

The Concept Inventory

Concepts placed in the Concept Inventory persist with you through death and will work unconditionally for as long as their requirements are met. Once their respective rings' Divine Vessels are obtained, certain concepts gain additional abilities enhancing their previous capabilities.

ConceptThe Concept of "Misery" under the Ring of Calamity

These items have no recipes and are obtained by fulfilling certain achievements regardless if you have their respective ring equipped. Of course, in order for you to make use of them, you have to have spent time with their ring and that said ring must be equipped.

Note: Please use JEI to view all the items and press ALT while hovering on each one to see how they are obtained.

Elemental Relics [REVAMPED]

If you are here from Sanctified Legacy, this would be familiar to you as the Elemental Blasphemy and Sacraments fall under this category. They are reworked and further enhanced in this mod, giving you the ability to equip and utilize more than 1 at a time. To those who are new, in a sense, they are the core of the mod's enhancements for Iron's Spells and Spellbooks: Providing buffs relevant to their respective ring's playstyle.

Blasphemy

The Elemental Relics

Slot Acquisition: The slots for these items are obtained by spending time with their respective ring. By default, you gain 1 slot for every passing day at a maximum of 9. Additional slots are granted depending on whether you have T.O.M.E, GTBC's GeomancyPlus, or my upcoming mod: AeromancyPlus installed.

Blasphemy AcquisitionDormant Relic Acquisition Mechanics

Base Item Acquisition: The base item for this mod is obtained by defeating the Ender Dragon. Unlike before, there is no time requirement to obtaining this item. Furthermore, you no longer need to be the one to have killed the dragon to obtain this item. Simply being there within a 128 block radius of the Ender Dragon's death location bearing the respective ring will cause the dragon to spawn 1 unique base item with its death.

In a sense, if there are 2 Players, one with the Ring of Calamity and the other with the Ring of Sanctuary during the dragon's death animation: 1 Dormant Blasphemy and 1 Dormant Sacrament will spawn at the dragon's death location.

Dormant BlasphemyDormant Relic Exclusive Mechanic

Base Item Exclusive Mechanic: Should you decide that the debuffs of its ring are too much for you to handle, you are given the ability to destroy the ring in question through this item. Without elemental attunement, equipping this item in any curio slot will cause the player to enter the 7 Day Apocalyptic Countdown back in Sanctified Legacy. Once the countdown reaches its end, this item and its ring will be permanently destroyed. Should you change your mind during the countdown, you can simply unequip the item.

If this item is elementally attuned: Once worn, it cannot be unequipped. Tread carefully.

Divine Vessels [NEW]

Divine VesselDivine Vessel: Khaslana

These are considered to be the final item obtainable for each respective ring. They are meant to be overpowered as they are the equivalent of you ascending to the throne of godhood of their ring's domain. These items have no crafting recipe and are obtained once the following conditions are satisfied:

  1. You have the ring equipped and all 7 debuffs of this specific ring have been fully awakened
  2. You have obtained all the relevant concepts for this specific ring

Once the above conditions are satisfied, the slot for the Divine Vessel will be unlocked and the item will be permanently equipped in its slot.

Divine Vessel RequirementsRequirements to obtain the Divine Vessel of Calamity

Note: When the ring is destroyed, this is the only item that you can continue to use with its capabilities severely diminished. Without the ring, you gain the ability to unequip this item. Naturally, it will also no longer persist with you through death.

Rings of the Seven..? [REVAMPED]

As part of the revamp, the rings will no longer grant all of their heavy debuffs at once when worn. Instead, they slowly surface one by one, progressing until they become unbearable within a span of 7 days.

Upon Equip

Ring of Calamity [Dynamic Curses: Upon Equipping]

After 2hrs

Ring of Calamity [Dynamic Curses: After 2H]

After 1d

Ring of Calamity [Dynamic Curses: After 1D]

With this change, the rings themselves no longer grant any innate buffs. They are simply the item necessary to make use of all the other items the mod has to offer. The buffs are left for the player to decide by equipping the relevant concepts that cater specifically to their playstyle.

Additionally, the time spent is no longer calculated by the ratio between the time the ring is equipped with the time the ring is unequipped. It now directly counts the actual time the player has worn the ring allowing you to equip them at a much later time without the consequence of forever being unable to obtain a certain item from the mod. This essentially means the pressure of equipping the ring at the start of your playthrough is effectively removed.

As the mod name suggests, there will be 7 distinct rings.. they are as follows:

The Ring of CalamityRing of Calamity
[RELEASED]

The Ring of Calamity governs over the domain of Death. It is a ring meant for users who specialize in dealing damage without a care for their own survivability. In a sense, a glass cannon build. Its items, the Concepts of Calamity build upon this playstyle by providing the players massive buffs to their damage, be it melee, ranged, or spell damage with specific activation conditions catering to this particular type of playstyle. As of v1 release, the mod features 27 Concepts of Calamity. More will be added eventually.

The Ring of SanctuaryRing of Sanctuary
[WIP]

The Ring of Sanctuary governs over the domain of Life. It is a ring meant for users who specialize in tanking hits, reflecting damage received, healing, and protecting others. This ring and its items are currently being worked on.

The Ring of EternityRing of Eternity
[TBA]

The Ring of Eternity governs over the domain of Time. It is a ring meant for users who specialize in tinkering with machines. Bearers of this ring typically enjoy playing with tech mods such as Mekanism, providing the much sought after integration with a magic mod like Iron's Spells and Spellbooks. Although it will not directly be an addon for any specific tech mod, it will provide relevant boosts such as increasing block entity tick speed, doubling machinery output, speeding up the world time, etc. That said, when this ring is added, the mod Time in a Bottle will also be added as a dependency to facilitate the block entity tick increase feature. While it is understood that this ring does NOT feature a DPS playstyle, it will still add combat/supportive effects that make use of "Time." This ring and its items are currently under the planning phase.

The Ring of BoundaryRing of Boundary
[TBA]

The Ring of Boundary governs over the domain of Space. It is a ring meant for users who specialize in building. Bearers of this ring typically enjoy creating builds ranging from nice cozy homes to huge empires of towering heights. When this ring is added, the mod Effortless Building will also be added as a dependency to facilitate this feature. While it is understood that this ring does NOT feature a DPS playstyle, it will still add combat/supportive effects that make use of "Space." This ring and its items are currently under the planning phase.

The Ring of DestinyRing of Destiny
[TBA]

The Ring of Destiny governs over the domain of Fate. It is a ring meant for users who live a nomadic life and prefer adventuring the vast wilderness of their world hunting down treasure after treasure. Bearers of this ring will gain significant exploration related buffs in addition to being the DoT focused damage playstyle. This ring and its items are currently under the planning phase.

The Ring of AuthorityRing of Authority
[TBA]

The Ring of Authority governs over the domain of Order. It is a ring meant for users who prefer the company of others, be it Players, Pets, Summons, Guards/Soliders or anything of the sort. Allies of the bearer of this ring will gain significant boosts to their stats, facilitating the nature of this ring. In addition, bearers of this ring will be able to forge items that have significantly increased stats and/or unique effects when used and worn. This ring and its items are currently under the planning phase.

The Ring of VerityRing of Verity
[TBA]

The Ring of Verity governs over the domain of Reason. It is a ring meant for users who primarily seek out exploits and mechanics that bypass regular implementation. Want to do something completely unpredictable? This ring is yours for the keeping. Its damage playstyle is based on Luck. This ring and its items are currently under the planning phase.

Note that all features of any ring in their planning phase are STC.

And once all Divine Vessels are gathered under one hand regardless of their owner, a certain ritual may be performed to allow the player to further ascend to the end of all things.. granting them:

The Halo of FinalityThe Halo of Finality
[TBA]

Under Finality, the domains of Calamity, Sanctuary, Eternity, Boundary, Destiny, Authority, and Verity stand united. Should you be its rightful owner, you shall gain access to all the abilities of each ring without any form of drawback whatsoever. In a sense, you become the God of all Gods.

You may accomplish this feat alone, wearing all rings at once.. earnestly progressing and suffering through all 7 at the same time... or you may seek the companionship and support of others to help you in this endeavor. However..

Pay heed: for only one bearer of the Halo of Finality may exist in all the world. During which case, no other player can ascend to Finality. Should its current bearer fall, the Halo of Finality will permanently shatter, allowing another player to ascend once more. If the slayer of the bearer is a player, the rights to the Halo of Finality shall transfer over to its victor without the need for any ritual.

The design of the Halo of Finality is heavily inspired from Goety: Revelation's Halo of the End and thus bears a striking resemblance to it.

Word of Warning

This mod cannot and will never be made to coexist with my previous mod, Sanctified Legacy. If you wish to use this mod, you will have to remove the other one and vice versa. I do not allow forks of any kind to "resolve" this issue. I deliberately coded it in this manner with approval from CurseForge admins. Should there be any attempts to do so, I will delete Sanctified Legacy, set this mod to private, and cease all future updates.
