Couch Controls

What's new

  • Shoulder scrolling works in the stonecutter and every other list: the scroll is sent as navigation, so Pandorical's move-one-item wheel habit does not eat it when the cursor rests on a slot. Needs Pandorical 1.3.5.
  • Confirm is held for as long as the button is, outside containers: pressed on the way down and let go on the way up, the way a mouse button is. It used to click whole the moment it went down, so anything that wants a hold never got one - Loot Ender's lock pick is pushed while the button stays down, and the jump button could not turn a lock at all. Containers still take a whole click, since a held press there spreads the stack over every slot the stick moves across.
  • A button still held when a screen closes is spent until it lifts. Confirm is the jump button, so sealing a trade made the player hop; the same went for any hold the world reads, sneak and use included.
  • Sprint works from the pad. The stick's movement reached the player by a road the sprint check does not look down, so with the keyboard idle the game saw nobody walking and sprint did nothing.
  • Hints name the pad's buttons while the pad is in use, through Pandorical: A or Cross, LT or L2, as the controller in hand prints them. A key or a mouse click hands them back to the keyboard. Needs Pandorical 1.3.9.
  • Y quick-moves in the inventory again once the pad has taken the pointer to an item; until then, and over an empty slot, it still closes the inventory it opened. It had become open-and-close only, which left the inventory with no quick move on a pad.
  • Sneak is on the left stick click, off B, which sits under the same thumb as the camera, so looking around while crouched meant letting go of one or the other. With vanilla's Sneak option set to Toggle, a click crouches and another stands.
  • Sprint is the left stick pushed all the way forward, or forward and to one side, and holds until the stick comes back to the middle. The stick click it used to be is sneak now.
  • The buttons mods put on the inventory screen, Chest Utils' sort and the teleport menu's pearl among them, are stops for the stick like the slots are. They were only reachable by steering the free pointer onto them.
  • B opens chat, with the pointer on the newest link, and the stick steps between the links in it: A clicks one. A teleport or trade request answered from the couch is B then A. Every clickable run of text the chat shows is a stop, wherever it came from.
  • A sprint held by the pad is not ended by running into a block. It came straight back the moment the player was clear, so climbing a hill a step at a time pulsed the view in and out with every step.
  • Nor by bobbing at the surface of deep water. The game starts a sprint when your eyes dip under and stops it when they come up, until you are actually swimming, so a held stick pulsed the view with every bob; it now holds, and the next dip is a dive. Wading along the bottom still ends it, as it always has.
