Description
This (fairly generic) mod introduces rubies! However, I've opted to change it up a bit. Instead of SUPER RARE ORE that makes SUPER OVERPOWERED weapons, I figured I'd make it interesting.
Rubies themselves aren't that hard to come by. They aren't as common as coal or iron, but not as rare as diamond. The challenge comes from chiseling the rough rubies into a workable shape, then purifying them with diamonds.
The tools are fairly normal. Higher durability, speed, etc. However, the armor has two special perks.
The first is pretty simple. While you are wearing the full set, you get a resistance buff.
The second is pretty fun. While under 25% health, you get a bonus to haste, strength, and speed.
So, how do you get these items?
The first step is finding them. Once again, not the rarest ore, but you will have to do some mining.
Once you have some Rough Rubies, you're going to want to chisel them. Head to your nearest crafting table, and make some diamond chisels. Crafting a diamond and a stick together makes 4 chisels.
Next, craft 8 Rough Rubies together with 1 diamond chisel. This will give you 8 Cloudy Rubies. The Diamond Chisel will be broken in the process, but sacrifices have to be made.
Now, craft a Cloudy Ruby Block from 9 Cloudy Rubies. Surround the Cloudy Ruby Block with 4 Cloudy Rubies, and 4 Diamonds in the crafting table. This will give you one Ruby.
With that Ruby, you can craft armor, tools, but most importantly...
A Ruby Hoe.
There are also Ruby Blocks, Cloudy Ruby Blocks, and Rough Ruby Blocks.
This mod was a two hour challenge, so I didn't have much time to add more. Maybe I'll expand on this mod in the future.
However, the mod I made in the 2 hour time frame is slightly buggy. So, I took about 40 minutes to debug the mod, and uploaded that one too.
You can still download the one made in 2 hours, but there will be bugs and issues that are already solved in the debugged one.
