Copious Dogs Reforged
This was based on an existing mod available for minecraft 1.7.10 which does not seem to have been updated in quite some time. This started off as an attempt to fix various bugs and make it work nicely for my daughter.

Curse Maven Snippet
Fixed an issue where dogs would not cause damage to mobs they were attacking.
Changed spawn registration code so all dogs are registered to a biome in a single spawner so changing the config to a low spawn probability will result in much fewer dogs.
