What's New

This update improves dedicated-server compatibility, fixes unnecessary error messages during resource scanning, and makes compatibility reports more reliable.

Fixed Dedicated Server Resource Scanning

• Fixed an issue where CompatScope could generate repeated Invalid path '' errors while scanning server resources.
• Resource scanning now uses valid, non-empty paths instead of requesting an empty resource root.
• Prevented these scanner-generated errors from appearing as misleading high-priority compatibility findings.
• Applied the fix to both Fabric and NeoForge.

Improved Modded Data Support

• Improved detection of server data stored in custom resource directories.
• Preserved support for standard Minecraft resources and mod-specific data structures.
• Custom locations such as origin_layers remain supported.
• Resource discovery continues to work with loaded mods, datapacks, and generated resources.

Cleaner Compatibility Reports

• Reduced misleading runtime diagnostics caused by CompatScope's own resource scanning.
• Made it easier to distinguish actual mod compatibility problems from scanner-related warnings.
• Preserved existing resource, recipe, registry, dependency, and runtime analysis.

Dedicated Server Compatibility

The update has been tested on real Minecraft 1.21.1 dedicated servers using both Fabric and NeoForge.

NeoForge

• Successfully completed scanning a large modpack.
• Confirmed that the previous empty-path error no longer occurs.
• Successfully generated compatibility reports.

Fabric

• Successfully scanned a large modpack with more than 200 mods.
• Confirmed that the previous empty-path error no longer occurs.
• Successfully generated JSON and HTML reports.
• Resource scanning completed with partial coverage because one resource exceeded the configured 16 MiB per-resource limit.

Both tests confirmed that CompatScope can initialize, scan server resources, analyze compatibility issues, and generate reports in dedicated-server environments.

Existing Data and Fixes

This update preserves the existing:

• Changes tracking and saved baselines
• Fix History
• Fix State
• Generated compatibility fixes
• SAFE Apply functionality

No reset of existing compatibility history or tracking data is required.

Schema Changes

The analysis schema includes the new capability:

nonEmptyServerDataRootEnumeration

This identifies the updated SERVER_DATA scanning behavior, which uses valid, non-empty resource roots.

Notes

• A scan may report PARTIAL when configured resource limits are reached. This does not necessarily indicate a scanning failure.
• Compatibility findings involving other mods, datapacks, or resource packs are reported separately from CompatScope's own operation.
• Fix application, rollback, and persisted Fix State functionality remain unchanged in this update.
