What's new
Cities in a vanilla world, with rivers and quays, and block substitutes for packs. Six jars: Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge), 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3 (NeoForge).
Added
- Cities in a vanilla world. A new choice at the top of the Customize screen: Land — Vanilla, cities
apart. The world is vanilla's — its terrain, caves, ores, biomes, villages and animals — with a CityWorld city
every so often, like a village, each on its own level and with the ground around it eased into the hills.
Works with the Modern, Apocalypse, Classic, Destroyed and Sparse styles. Four dials beside it: city spacing
(one city per 1024 to 8192 blocks), city size (districts across), size varies by, and street level
range (how far above the sea a city may stand; higher ground gets none). Options that vanilla's world decides
instead are greyed out while it is on. For servers and packs it is the settings group
cities.- Rivers run through the city as vanilla made them, banks and all, and stay navigable. Roads cross on CityWorld's bridges, built across the river with their piers on the bed. About half the city ground beside a river is a quay — a promenade, a mooring with a spruce boardwalk round a slip, or a loading quay with a derrick and cargo — and the rest is the natural bank, easing up to the street.
/cityfind city [tp]finds the nearest one; F3 shows the city, its level and how far its edge is.
- Block substitutes, for packs: a block data map,
cityworld:substitute, swaps any block CityWorld places for another (keeping its shape and facing), in its own buildings and in schematics, optionally only in some of overworld, Nether and End. CityWorld ships it empty. - CityWorld: Neutral Palette, a separate add-on jar on GitHub that uses it: cities built from natural woods, stones, deepslate and terracotta — no iron, gold, diamond, emerald, lapis or copper blocks to take, no bright wool, concrete or stained glass. For survival packs, and for plainer Apocalypse cities.
Settings and terrain changes only affect newly generated chunks.
