Description:
CBC Enhanced Shells
An addon for Create Big Cannons that adds 55 upgraded munition variants with progressive stat
scaling, unique visual tints, and a tiered crafting system.
---
Overview
CBC Enhanced Shells expands the arsenal of Create Big Cannons by introducing 5 upgrade tiers (Mk.I
through Mk.V) for all 9 base shell types, plus 5 enhanced Powder Charges with increasing muzzle
velocity.
That's 45 new shells + 5 new powder charges = 50 new items to load into your cannons.
---
Added Nuclear Shell v1.0.2
Added H Shell
Shell Types
All 9 base CBC shell types receive 5 upgraded variants:
- HE Shell
- AP Shell
- Solid Shot
- AP Shot
- Shrapnel Shell
- Smoke Shell
- Drop Mortar Shell
- Bag of Grapeshot
- Mortar Stone
Stat multipliers by tier: Mk.I (x3), Mk.II (x5), Mk.III (x10), Mk.IV (x15), Mk.V (x20)
These multipliers apply to damage, penetration, toughness, and other relevant stats. Explosive power
is capped at x3 to keep things balanced.
---
Powder Charges
5 upgraded powder charges with increasing muzzle velocity:
- Mk.I — 50 m/s (strength 2.5)
- Mk.II — 60 m/s (strength 3.0)
- Mk.III — 70 m/s (strength 3.5)
- Mk.IV — 80 m/s (strength 4.0)
- Mk.V — 90 m/s (strength 4.5)
For reference, the base CBC Powder Charge sits at 40 m/s (strength 2.0).
---

- Mk.II = Mk.I + 2 Cast Iron Ingots
- Mk.III = Mk.II + 2 Diamonds

- Mk.V = Mk.IV + 1 Netherite Ingot

Shell Holder (Container Shell)
The Shell Holder is a unique projectile that acts as a container for other shells. Load it with
projectiles, fire it from a cannon, and watch it release all its sub-munitions mid-flight as real
CBC projectile entities.
How it works
1. Place the Shell Holder block
2. Right-click with any projectile (HE Shell, AP Shell, Shrapnel Shell, etc.) to load it inside
3. Attach a fuze and tracer as usual
4. Load it into a cannon with powder charges and fire
5. When the fuze triggers, the Shell Holder releases all loaded shells in a cone burst — each one
flies as a fully independent projectile with its own damage, fuze, and behavior
Interactions
- Right-click with a shell → Inserts the shell into the holder
- Sneak + Right-click (empty hand) → Removes the last inserted shell
- Right-click with a fuze/tracer → Attaches fuze/tracer as normal
- Hover with Shift → Shows capacity and list of loaded shells
Capacity per tier
- Mk.I → 4 shells
- Mk.II → 8 shells
- Mk.III → 12 shells
- Mk.IV → 16 shells
- Mk.V → 20 shells
Rules
- Any projectile type can be loaded (CBC vanilla + addon variants)
- Shell Holders cannot be loaded into other Shell Holders (no recursion)
- An empty Shell Holder is a dud — nothing happens on detonation
- Loaded shells keep their fuze and tracer — an HE Shell with a timed fuze loaded inside will still
detonate on its own after being released
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1+
- Create Big Cannons 5.11.2
