Replaces natural regeneration with Campfire healing to make survival more challenging and rewarding.

Features

  • Disabled Natural Regeneration: Natural regeneration is disabled by default, making health a precious resource.
  • Campfire Healing: Campfires heal players within a small radius when placed above sea level in the Overworld.
  • Food Drain: By default, Campfire healing works just like natural regeneration, draining food and healing faster when saturated.
  • Bed Restriction: You can't set your respawn point below where campfires heal.
  • Soul Campfires: Soul Campfires work anywhere, but come with a cost. They require Rotten Flesh as fuel, drain food faster, and cause you to be "infested" with parasites.
  • Infested Effect: The Infested (vanilla) effect reduces your damage dealt by 33%, but ends when the Silverfish parasites come out.
  • Configuration: Highly configurable! You can tweak pretty much any aspect of the mod, from healing rates to fuel types and more.
  • Flower Stack Limit: Flowers are limited to a stack size of 1 by default, preventing players from stockpiling Suspicious Stew ingredients for easy healing.
  • Loot: Healing-related items (e.g., potions, apples and stews) are added to various loot tables, making them more accessible and rewarding to find.

The Design Philosophy

The intent of this mod is to make the game harder and make Campfires more useful. Early game, Campfires allow you to heal around your base. But when you start mining underground or go to the Nether, health becomes a precious resource. You will have to rely on careful combat and items like Suspicious Stew and Golden Apples to survive until you can return to base. Later on, potions become your main source of healing.
