Release 8.0.24 — Drill me to the moon
I want to present the results of three weeks of work. This is probably the biggest update I've released so far.
BuildCraft Community Edition now supports Minecraft versions up to 26.3, and API v2.1 introduces a major expansion that almost completely eliminates the need for addon developers to rely on BCCE's internal classes.
This update also restores missing content, integrates translations directly into the main mod, and fixes numerous bugs, most of which were edge cases or potential issues.
Changes:
- Added support for Minecraft 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3.
- Extended the API.v2 to v2.1, a major expansion for addon developers. Addons can now create custom pipe flows and behaviors, introduce new Robot Board programs, and integrate more deeply with engines, machines, world interactions and Blueprint libraries. The shared API also makes addons easier to maintain across supported Minecraft versions and mod loaders.
- Translations are now included directly in the main mod. The separate BCCE Localizations addon is no longer required or supported.
- Added missing crafting and conversion recipes for Diamond, Diamond Wooden, Gold, Iron, Quartz and Sandstone FE Pipes. These pipes can now be made from their MJ equivalents and converted back.
- Restored original BuildCraft-style fluid flow animation in pipes. Liquids now visibly flow through the pipes instead of appearing stationary.
- Fluid Pipes now emit light when carrying glowing liquids. The light changes as fluid enters or leaves the pipe.
- Expanded Paintbrush support for beds, banners, shulker boxes and sign text. Recoloring preserves stored contents and block orientation, and both halves of a bed change together.
- Restored the intended Volume Box controls. The Volume Box item creates an area, while the Marker Connector edits and removes it. The Guide Book now explains these controls and the Filler Planner more clearly.
- Improved sound feedback for pipes, tanks, machines, fluid transfers and switches, including more appropriate placement and breaking sounds.
Fixes:
- Fixed items in pipes briefly freezing, snapping back to the center, leaving ghost images or not appearing when a pipe first comes into view.
- Fixed robot recharging. Robots low on power can seek an available charging station instead of getting stuck at an unpowered home station. The Wake Up action also works at the station where a robot is charging.
- Fixed items bouncing endlessly through blocked pipe routes or being lost when a pipe cannot drop them into the world.
- Fixed rotating pipes sometimes leaving incorrect connections, including broken wire connections, and several crashes involving travelling items.
- Fixed wire networks showing missing sections in large multiplayer builds or reloading their connections in the wrong order.
- Fixed items being transferred back into the same inventory when a machine exposes that inventory on multiple sides.
- Fixed Fluid Pipes crashing, losing fluid or accepting incorrect amounts when connected machines report invalid transfers. Fluid distribution now handles large transfers more reliably.
- Fixed Tank columns incorrectly connecting different fluids, loading incorrect amounts after a restart, or slowing down heavily in large installations.
- Fixed Tanks showing incorrect fluid amounts in machine interfaces or giving the wrong Redstone Comparator signal when holding large volumes.
- Fixed Pumps following outdated fluid paths, incorrectly preserving water sources, or trying to work in unloaded areas.
- Fixed Heat Exchangers having broken interfaces after rebuilding, problems near unloaded areas, or rotation affecting protected blocks. They now correctly display special fluids from other mods and no longer cause a dedicated-server crash when generating particles. Distillers also no longer lose energy already spent when processing is interrupted.
- Fixed Combustion Engines consuming fuel incorrectly, losing part of a fuel burn or mixing different fuel types.
- Fixed Stone Engines still showing power output after running out of fuel or overheating. Restored the Free Power advancement for generating MJ with a Redstone Engine.
- Fixed MJ and FE energy transfers wasting power when a receiving machine can accept only part of it. Engines now avoid output connections that cannot receive power, and Creative Engine settings survive reloads.
- Fixed naturally generated oil springs sometimes failing to start flowing, oil generation overwriting machines or other blocks containing saved data, and oil deposits generating incorrectly when multiple dimensions were loaded.
- Fixed Water Gel spreading into protected areas or causing severe lag. It is no longer consumed when placement fails.
- Fixed Blueprint construction placing entities in the wrong locations, treating unrelated entities as completed work or leaving partially placed blocks after a failed operation. Rotated Blueprints can no longer damage their own Builder.
- Fixed Builders treating blocks with the wrong sign text, banner patterns or custom names as already completed when following a Blueprint.
- Fixed Builders and Fillers losing saved jobs, reserved materials or excavation settings after reloads or temporary interruptions. Disabling excavation now also stops digging work that was already queued, and Template Builders correctly notice changes to nearby blocks.
- Fixed failed Architect Table saves producing unusable Blueprints and incorrect progress calculations for extremely large areas.
- Fixed several machines losing partially completed work when the world is saved and reloaded.
- Fixed the Assembly Table hiding recipes beyond the first twelve, Advanced Crafting failing to notice newly available ingredients, and Assembly and Integration Tables using outdated recipes or mishandling special ingredients. Auto Workbenches also no longer crash on custom recipes without ingredients.
- Improved JEI compatibility. Addon recipes, fuels, wires, lenses and Facades display more reliably. Machine recipes now refresh after switching servers or reloading data instead of showing outdated results, and JEI no longer crashes when starting before a world is loaded.
- Improved Jade compatibility. Large inventories now cycle through all their items instead of hiding later slots, energy readings no longer count the same storage several times, and fluid names remain visible when fluid amounts are hidden.
- Fixed Gate Copier settings not saving correctly or applying rules that the destination Gate cannot use.
- Fixed Gates misreading inventory space, item counts or fluid levels, especially with restricted slots and multiple tanks. Missing engine power-stage options have been restored, and Gate crafting no longer consumes unrelated ingredients.
- Fixed robots teleporting, skipping waypoints or causing server freezes while trying to navigate blocked areas.
- Fixed Robot Docks ignoring request priorities, accepting unwanted items or leaving broken station links and reservations after changing stations or reloading the world. Robots now respect station restrictions set by zones and Gates.
- Fixed Delivery Robots choosing the wrong items when requests allow multiple matches or use custom filters.
- Fixed robots duplicating or losing items when inventory transfers fail. Tool collection and item loading or unloading now respect which sides of an inventory permit access, and unbreakable tools are no longer dropped after an unsuccessful use.
- Fixed fluid-carrying robots giving up when a destination pipe is temporarily full or another usable tank remains available.
- Fixed the Zone Planner map staying gray after nearby terrain loads or failing to retry interrupted requests. Volume Boxes can also be edited again after reconnecting, their outlines behave more reliably near unloaded terrain, and creating or editing them now respects protected areas.
- Fixed large Guide Book, Zone Planner, Volume Box and Electronic Library updates sometimes failing in multiplayer.
- Fixed long Map Location paths disappearing when their endpoints were far away, even if the path passed near the player.
- Fixed middle-click selection choosing the pipe instead of an attached Facade, Lens, Gate or Wire. Painting an installed Facade now targets the Facade more reliably.
- Fixed excessive Fluid Shard drops and improved compatibility with IC2 fluid cells and Forestry / Propolis Pipes, including item loss and crashes involving invalid bee data.
- Improved performance in large installations by reducing unnecessary work from idle Quarries and Fillers, repeated oil searches, Assembly Tables, Lasers and Path Markers.
