buffmobs-4.0.0+mc1.21.1-neoforge.jar
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Hello everyone, I am back after a while away to announce BuffMobs 4.0! This time it took a lot of work because I dropped the Cloth Config dependency to build a brand new configuration menu. This new menu is implemented one way for NeoForge on versions 1.21.1 up to 1.21.11, and another way for both NeoForge and Fabric from version 1.21 all the way to 26x. The mod now has several new features that will certainly cause me support issues in the future, but hey, that is what we are here for 😅. Once again, thank you all for the support. It is thanks to you that I keep updating the mod and trying to bring new things to it. Remember, if you encounter a bug or have a suggestion, please open an Issue at our GitHub. That is pretty much it, thanks for using my mod :)
BUFFMOBS 4.0.0 CHANGELOG
BuffMobs 4.0.0 is the biggest update to the mod so far. It expands BuffMobs from basic stat and difficulty scaling into a complete mob progression and combat customization system, featuring generated equipment, Elite mobs, elemental traits, special abilities, world events, scaling rewards, adaptive difficulty, progression resets, and a brand new built in configuration screen.
This release is designed to be safe to install over an existing setup. Existing configuration keys and gameplay defaults were preserved, and every major new gameplay system is disabled by default until you turn it on.
Compatibility details:
- Minecraft versions: 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.X
- Loaders: NeoForge and Fabric
- Cloth Config: No longer required
- Existing worlds and configs: Fully compatible
- New gameplay systems: Disabled by default

- Passive mobs converted to neutral or hostile behavior are now fully integrated with the rest of BuffMobs.
- New progression reset commands let server operators reset progress without changing world time.

🖥️ NEW BUILT IN CONFIGURATION SCREEN
BuffMobs now has its own independent configuration GUI. Cloth Config is no longer needed, and the NeoForge Config button works whether Cloth Config is installed or not.
- All 250 settings are available in game with no TOML only options.
- Settings are organized into 24 categories with additional subcategories for larger systems.
- Changes are applied and saved immediately.
- Modified settings are highlighted and can be reset individually to their default values.
- Categories are shown two per row when both titles fit to keep the main menu compact.
- Long category names automatically use a full row instead of being cut off.
- Option labels use the full width of the row and can wrap onto a second line.
- List based settings open in a dedicated list editor.
- Preset slots are labeled Preset 1 and Preset 2 by default, and update dynamically if custom names are entered. To open the screen, go to Mods, then BuffMobs, then Config.
🎮 NEW GAMEPLAY SYSTEMS All systems in this section are optional and disabled by default. Enable only the ones that fit your world or modpack.

- Eligible buffed mobs can spawn wearing generated armor that becomes stronger over time.
- Armor tiers unlock by in game day: Leather on day 0, Gold on day 7, Iron on day 14, Diamond on day 30, and Netherite on day 60.
- Each tier has its own selection weight, with Gold more likely in the Nether and Diamond or Netherite in the End.

- Generated armor does not drop by default, but drops can be enabled with a configurable chance.
- Additional mob IDs from other mods can be marked as valid armor wearers.
Elite Mobs:

- Particle choices include Snowflake, Electric Spark, Random, and None.

- Dropped XP can scale with the mob effective buff strength up to a configurable cap.

- Fractional extra loot rolls become a chance for one additional roll.
- Blood Moon bonuses and Elite kill rewards stack with this system.

- A buffed mob can receive exactly one weighted trait that coexists with Elite status.
- Flame sets targets on fire and resists fire damage.
- Frost applies Slowness and resists freezing.
- Toxic applies Poison and cleanses Poison from itself.

- Vampiric heals from dealt damage and cleanses Wither.
- Armored permanently gains extra armor and toughness.

- Configurable intervals, global start and end notifications, glowing effects, doubled scaled rewards, and optional spawn duplication.
Adaptive Difficulty:
- World difficulty reacts to player performance, with deaths increasing an adaptive multiplier and kills reducing it.
- Counters are saved per world and layer on top of normal scaling.
Progression Reset Commands:
- Server operators with permission level 2 can reset progression without editing world data.
- /buffmobs reset all confirm resets scaling, adaptive difficulty, Blood Moon, and mob state.

- /buffmobs reset bloodmoon confirm restarts the cycle from the current day.
- /buffmobs reset mobs clears and reinitializes loaded mob state and one time features.
🔧 EXISTING SYSTEMS IMPROVED
- Passive Mob Aggression: Passive mobs converted to neutral or hostile behavior are treated like hostile mobs, receiving full attribute scaling, status effects, Elite status, traits, abilities, and scaled damage calculations.
- Harmful Effects: Poison, Slowness, and Wither can be enabled or disabled individually, choosing randomly from enabled effects.
- Mob Presets: Default internal names for Preset 1 and Preset 2 default to default and boss, making default mappings work smoothly without manual naming.
- Reloading and Debugging: /buffmobs reload reapplies generated armor, Elite status, traits, and abilities on loaded mobs. /buffmobs debug reports mob Elite status, traits, and abilities with localization.
- More Controlled Randomness: Added random Elite name colors, random Deathrattle effects, random armor pieces, and random particles per mob.
🌐 LOCALIZATION
- English, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese are fully updated for version 4.0.0 with 727 matching keys across all languages.
⚠️ UPGRADE NOTES
- Back up your world and config/buffmobs.toml before updating.
- Existing TOML files remain compatible with automatic addition of new settings.
- All new gameplay systems are disabled by default.
- Cloth Config is no longer required.
- Use /buffmobs reload to update loaded mobs, and /buffmobs reset mobs to re roll one time features.
A world backup is strongly recommended before testing this version. Since a lot has changed, I cannot guarantee that everything will work completely normally; it is basically a pre release disguised as a release :p
