A somewhat difficult brewing process, heavily inspired by the BreweryX plugin for Spigot.

Description

Brewery Reimagined Banner

Brewery Reimagined is a simple Minecraft Mod that adds a brewing system to the game. It is heavily inspired by the Spigot Plugin Brewery and its still actively maintained fork BreweryX.

You may have noticed the recent rebrand from Brewery Forgified to Brewery Reimagined. This is because I want this mod to be more than just a Forge port of BreweryX, and am in process of adding more features beyond what the original plugins had. Except for that, nothing has changed.

Issues

If you find any bugs or issues with the mod, or have questions about it, please report them on the GitHub issues page. This is also the place to suggest new features or improvements, but I cannot guarantee that I will have time to implement them.

Compatibility

Currently, this mod is only available for Minecraft 1.20.1 using Forge 47.4.0. I do not plan on updating or backporting this mod to other Minecraft versions. I do not plan on porting this mod to Fabric, Quilt or any other modloader. The mod supports NeoForge out of the box.

If you plan on doing any of the above, feel free to do so while following the source code's AGPL license.

Features

While optional, it is highly recommended you install Patchouli when using this mod.

Brewing

Fill a brewing cauldron with water and brew ingredients and supply it with heat to start brewing. Take the brew out using glass bottles after the brew-specific brewing time to continue with the process.

Distilling

Some brews need to be distilled. For this, place them into a distillery station together with the correct filter.

Fermenting

Some brews need to be barrel aged. For this, make a fermentation barrel of the correct wood type for your specific brew, put your brew inside and take it out once ready.

Purity

After the brewing process is finished, your brew will be assigned a purity. The value will be decided by how precise your ingredient amounts were and how well you chose the brewing and aging times of the brew.

Drunkenness

Most brews will apply the Alcohol effect to you, which causes your chat messages to become incoherent, your balance to be off and applies other status effects. Get too drunk, and you may gain alcohol poisoning, which can only be cured by drinking honey, or will need to throw up. When sleeping after drinking, there is a high chance you will have a hangover the next day.

Custom Brews & Recipes

The mod normally comes shipped with a bunch of recipes already included, but you can also choose to add your own ones. A tutorial for this can be found here. As of v1.3.0, the mod now even supports custom textures for your brews!

Cocktail Mixing

As of v1.4.0, you can now mix your own cocktails from other brews and extra items. These can also be customised.

Realtime Brewing

As of v1.5.0, the mod now uses real time. This does two things:

  • It allows brewing times to be predictable even on servers with unstable TPS.
  • It adds difficulty to brewing by not pausing the process when the chunk is unloaded.

Coffee

Not a fan of alcohol, or just looking for something to start off the day? That's no problem with the various kinds of coffee the mod adds!

How to figure out recipes

Usually, the players won't know the recipes for the brews, so they will have to figure them out themselves. It is recommended you provide your players with small hints, like the names or descriptions of brew, or an approximate description of their ingredients.

With this, they can tweak the ingredients' amounts and brewing time until they get an "Unfinished Brew", at which point they can distill or barrel age it to get the final brew.

This is already provided for the built-in brews in form of the "Brew Guide" book. If you want to add your own brews to this book, the instructions can be found here.

In addition to this, the mod adds its own guide book if Patchouli is installed. It can be crafted by default:

Modpack Usage

You may use this mod in modpacks and on servers without first asking me for permission, or even crediting me, as long as you do not pretend that you made this mod and do not ask for payment in exchange for access to your modpack. Credit is appreciated, tho :3
