What's new
Boss Checklist Additions 0.2.0 NeoForge 1.21.1 | requires Boss Checklist 5.3.x | client & server
NEW: REAL DROPS
- The Drops tab of the boss book now shows the boss's real, simulated loot instead of Boss Checklist's static, hand-maintained list: every item with the chance it showed up in a solo kill without Looting (e.g. "73%" or "100% x2").
- Picks up loot added by datapacks, KubeJS and Global Loot Modifiers, and level-gated drops from Dynamic Difficulty (simulated across the boss's whole level range instead of never showing up).
- Drops a mod hands out from its own code instead of a loot table (e.g. the Wither's Nether Star) are kept from Boss Checklist's own list and marked with "?" instead of being lost.
- The tab updates itself live, without reopening it, once a boss's simulation finishes.
- No items are ever created in the world and the simulation uses its own random source, so the world's own randomness is never touched.
- Pack file field "loot_tables": points the simulation at the right loot table(s) for a boss that fills a reward chest on death instead of dropping items itself (e.g. Bosses of Mass Destruction's Obsidilith).
- New commands: /bcadditions drops (lists the simulated chances), /bcadditions drops refresh (discards saved results and simulates everything again).
- New client option replaceDrops (default on) and server option cacheDrops (default on, saves results so a modpack only pays the simulation cost once per change).
FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS
- Fixed a server crash when a connected client does not have this addon (or still has an older, incompatible version): network packets are now only sent to clients that actually negotiated the channel.
- The time the simulation spends per server tick now adapts to how busy the server currently is, and automatically stops early once a boss's result has settled (100-300 trials instead of a fixed amount) — large modpacks finish simulating noticeably faster, without affecting the server's tick rate.
Known limitations: the simulated chances are an approximation (100-300 solo kills, no Looting), very rare drops can occasionally be missing, drops that depend on the player (e.g. Apotheosis gems) are simulated with a default player, and a boss with no loot table at all (only code-given drops) keeps Boss Checklist's original list unless a pack file's "loot_tables" points the simulation at the right table. See the README for the full list.
