What's new
Blood Bits: Flow 2.8.2-rc.7 — Forge 1.20.1 (Beta)
Performance update
- Heavy preparation of blood and grime on entities and equipped items now runs on a separate CPU thread: surface geometry, wound placement, dirt/soot/wetness composition, and surface-map encoding.
- Previously prepared marks remain visible while new marks are calculated. New marks may appear after a short preparation delay; larger queues can increase this delay.
- Preserve pigment resolution, colors, opacity, saved wounds, and native animated mesh handling.
Known performance issue
Early user testing suggests FPS may be higher than in previous builds, but performance problems are still present. First-hit stutters and combat slowdowns are not fully resolved in this build.
Validation
1317 automated tests and 41 mixin target checks passed. The FPS improvement is a user impression, not a controlled benchmark or a guarantee.
For Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge. Java 17 or newer. Install Blood Bits: Flow on the client and server. Replace the previous JAR; do not keep multiple versions installed together.
