Better Mob Heads gives supported vanilla mobs without an existing vanilla head item a decorative custom head when they die.

Description

Better Mob Heads

Mob Heads is a server-side Minecraft Java Edition datapack that gives supported vanilla mobs without an existing vanilla head item a decorative custom head when they die. The pack uses real minecraft-heads.com textures from the public MinecraftHeads CDN and applies simple score-driven loot logic with Looting support.

What It Does

  • Every supported mob in this pack can drop a decorative custom player_head that matches that mob's texture.
  • Looting increases the drop chance, bosses can be guaranteed, and charged creepers trigger a best-effort guaranteed-drop pulse for nearby mobs.

Charged Creeper Mechanic

This is the closest reliable datapack-only approximation to a true charged-creeper kill check when using scoreboard-driven mob death detection.
