# Barrier Protect

**Barrier Protect** adds eight tiers of protective barrier blocks that defend an area around them with a visible energy sphere. Whether you're hosting a survival server, building a base on an anarchy realm, or just want to keep creepers out of your house, Barrier Protect gives you a flexible, fuel-driven protection system that lives entirely in-game — no commands, no config files, no admin privileges required.

## How it works

Place a barrier block and you become its owner. Instantly, a translucent sphere appears around it covering everything inside its protection radius. While the barrier is active, no one but the owner (and the players the owner trusts) can:

- Break or place blocks inside the sphere
- Open containers (chests, barrels, furnaces, shulker boxes, etc.)
- Enter the protected zone (optional, per-player)

The barrier consumes fuel to stay online. Each tier accepts a specific fuel item that matches its theme, and the block's GUI lets you load up to nine stacks at once. When the timer hits zero, the sphere drops and protection ends — refuel it and press **"Consume now"** to bring it back online. The maximum stored time is capped at 24 hours so you never waste resources.

## The eight tiers

Higher tiers cover larger areas — a Netherite barrier protects a 64-block radius, more than enough for a full base, town, or spawn zone. Each barrier displays a sphere in its tier's signature color so you can see the boundary at a glance.

## Per-player permissions

Open the barrier's GUI and switch to the **Permissions** tab to see every online player. For each one you can grant four independent flags:

- **E** — Enter the sphere
- **B** — Break blocks inside
- **P** — Place blocks inside
- **C** — Open containers

Permissions are stored per-barrier, so you can give a friend full access to your house while keeping your storage vault locked down. The owner always has every permission and cannot be removed.

## Server-friendly

- Works on dedicated servers and single-player worlds
- No commands, no permissions plugin needed
- Hoppers can insert fuel automatically — build a refuel pipeline and forget it
- Barriers are indestructible to non-owners; only the owner (or creative players) can break them
- Items inside the block are dropped only when the owner mines it back
- Compatible with Forge 1.21.1

## Why use it?

Most protection mods need server admin setup, external plugins, or per-region configuration. Barrier Protect is a single craftable block that you place, fuel, and forget. It scales from a one-chunk starter base to a sprawling 64-radius compound, and the fuel cost gives a natural balance — protection has an ongoing material cost, but it's never permanent if you stop maintaining it.
