Backrooms: Lifeform  psychological horror experience where entities stalk, observe, and hunt unpredictably instead of simply attacking like normal mobs. These types of horror mods are known for stalking mechanics, distant sounds, and unpredictable behavior that builds tension before the entity even appears.

This mod focuses on fear through atmosphere, not just jumpscares.
You won't always see them… but you'll hear them.
And sometimes… they'll be right behind you.


Dynamic Stalking AI

Entities behave like intelligent hunters:

  • Watching from far away

  • Disappearing when spotted

  • Reappearing closer

  • Slowly escalating tension

  • Unpredictable attacks

You’re not just fighting mobs…
You're being hunted.


Partygoer

A smiling figure that shouldn't exist.

  • Appears in the distance

  • Stands still watching you

  • Disappears when looked at

  • Reappears closer

  • Eventually begins chasing

The longer you stay alive…
The more aggressive it becomes.

Sometimes you'll hear laughter.
Sometimes you'll see nothing at all.


Partygoer Stalker

A silent observer.

  • Appears behind player

  • Doesn't move at first

  • Moves only when not observed

  • Disappears instantly when looked at

  • Reappears closer each time

You'll start questioning what you saw…
Until it starts running.


Partygoer Cake Event

Psychological horror mechanic.

  • Partygoer appears silently

  • Places a cake on the ground

  • Action bar message appears:

"Eat it."

"You should eat the cake."

"You don't have much time."

A timer appears.

If you eat the cake:

  • Entity disappears

If you refuse:

  • Partygoer appears instantly

  • Player dies

You are being watched…
Even when nothing is there.


Lifeform (Bacteria)

An unknown organism detected nearby.

  • Makes the player feel uncomfortable with a heartbeat

  • Screams when sees player

  • Uncomfortable noises

You’ll hear it before you see it.

And when you see it…
It's already too late.


Lifeform (Stalking)

More intelligent variant.

  • Moves only when player not looking

  • Appears in darkness

  • Crawls silently

  • Screams randomly

  • Starts sudden chase


Heartbeat System

Your heartbeat reacts to nearby entities:

  • Slow heartbeat → Entity far

  • Faster heartbeat → Entity near

  • Intense heartbeat → Entity very close

Includes:

  • Screen shake

  • Breathing sounds

  • Darkening screen

You’ll know something is nearby…
Even when you can't see it.


Stamina System

Running now has consequences.

  • Sprint drains stamina

  • Heavy breathing when tired

  • Can't run when exhausted

  • Slow recovery

  • Exhausted breathing sound

When you're out of stamina…
You can't escape of them

  • Entity spawn rates
