Alternate Spawn System:

This mod is an attempt to fix an imbalance in the vanilla game. In regular survival play, it's very easy to avoid hostile monsters. All that is required is spamming cheap torches in your immediate area.

 

This mod fixes that by removing the darkness requirement to mob spawning (excluding daylight) and allowing player's to define their base which will become a safe area.

 

Read below for more information.

 

Flags:

 

Flags are used to claim your area. There are currently 3 tiers of flag (Iron, Gold, Diamond), each with a configurable safe radius. Player's can have a maximum of 4 (default) active flags at any one time. 

 

Activating a flag will toggle the flag's protections on and off.

Sneak + activating will tell you information about that flag.

 

Activating a flag when you at at your limit will disable the earliest activated flag owned by you.

 

Flags can be dyed like leather armor for some extra customization. 

 

Spawning:

 

Hostile mobs can spawn in any light level, excluding day light. Mobs can not spawn within a activated flag's radius. 

 

This means lighting up a cave will not stop mobs spawning. This also means you are able to have dark areas in your base with no worry of mobs.

 

Quick Guide:

 

Mobs can spawn in any light level (sunlight excluded).

Craft a flag to protect your base.

Toggle your flag on and off by activating it.
