Intro
Ars Prism is an addon focused on Ars Nouveau that adds complexity and variety to magic and technology.
Its splits up Ars Nouveau's "Source Gems" into 8 unique varieties
Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, Shadow, Mind, Power
Each of these elements include their own set (and color) of sourcestone, pedestals, braziers, and arcane machinery.
There are also new armors / tools / weapons for each element made from special elemental steel ingots.
These armors can progressively be upgraded to increase defense, mana/power, and threads
They also support transmogrification to be able to have them look like any other armor you wish. (Same with tools/weapons)
Armors, Tools, and weapons can all be inscribed at the inscription table to be able to cast spells on hit (with a mana discount)
Fluids/Flames
Each element has a new colorful fluid type used in processing, that also has special effects
Ignium - Smelts items thrown into it Aero Vapor - Throws anything that goes into it in the air and makes it levitate Lucidium - Causes glowing + Night vision on contact Power Elixir - Causes anything that comes in contact to explode Psioplasm - Causes anything that comes in contact to breed Terra Flux - Speeds up growth of nearby crops Umbral Serum - Anything it touches becomes invisible Aqua Vitae - "Washes" blocks that come in contact (Create washing)
There are also new colors of fire that can be created when ignited on elemental source stone
Red Flame - causes regular burning Orange Flame - Transmutes items that fall into into something random Yellow Flame - Shocks entities that enter it Green Flame - crushes blocks (Create crushing) that fall into it Blue Flame - Freezes adjacent blocks and entities that go into it Purple Flame - Can't remember :) Black Flame - Causes withering effect? Haunts items (Create haunting) White Flame - Purifies items (New processing effect)
Glyphs
New Effect Glyphs:
- Shadow - breaks light sources and causes darkness effect
- Spectre - temporarily puts you into spectator mode allowing you to move through blocks and fly
- XRay - Allows you to see through the targeted block type for a time
- Ward - Allows you to strengthen certain blocks (NBT enabled) so they are harder to break
- Disguise - Allows you to change your appearance to that of the target
New Target (Form) Glyphs
- Block - Target your spell on all blocks of a certain type around you
- Creature - Target your spell on all creatures of a certain type around you
- Entity - Target your spell on a specific entity
- Location - Target your spell at a specific location
New Rune Glyphs
21 Rune Glyphs allow you to store information in rune sequences
Stored information can be
- A location
- A block type
- An entity
- A mob type
- A sequence of glyphs (Rune sequences can be used as a spell macro)
A new "Observe" Glyph
- Allows storing information into a rune sequence
E.g.
Touch -> Observe -> Creature -> [Rune1]
Cast spell on a chicken
Stores [Chicken] in Rune1
Creature -> Rune1 -> AOE -> AOE -> Harm
Harms all chickens nearby
New Rituals
- Sanctuary - Stops hostile mobs from attacking
- Vortex - Takes blocks into the ritual - When started, breaks all of this type of block and puts it into any nearby inventories (Including the player's)
- Enchantment - Takes a spell parchment inscribed with a target glyph (E.g. the chicken harming spell) - Casts the spell repeatedly on an interval using source
E.g. Doing the enchantment ritual with the chicken harming spell will hurt any chicken that comes close.
Prismasphere Dimension
Ars Prism adds a new dimension, the Prismasphere which adds 8 biomes - one for each element.
To get to the Prismasphere, create a portal frame with sourcestone blocks (Any element or combo of elements) and use a prismatic gem as a catalyst.
Each biome has a new mob or two with its own special abilities and drops. It also borrows from Adams Ars Plus to add mages and boss structures.
