Ars Musique

An Ars Nouveau add-on, introducing musical magic.

Combine mystical ingredients in the Enchanting Apparatus to craft Music Discs. Recipes have been provided for every music disc from Minecraft, Ars Nouveau, plus over 100 additional mods.

Craft a Bard's Bandeau to play Music Discs wherever you go, spreading potion effects to nearby players, and monsters. Wearing Elemental Foci from Ars Elemental, or Ars Elemancy, adds effects based on the focus spell school. See the Bard's Bandeau entry for more details.

Bard's Bandeau

The Bard's Bandeau is a Curio head item which can be used to play Music Discs. Use the Bard's Bandeau in your main hand (or use the hotkey), then add music discs from your inventory into the Bandeau's inventory. To play a song, use the head Curio hotkey, then select the song to play. Music Discs played with the Bard's Bandeau apply potion effects to nearby Players, and Monsters, until the music stops.

With Ars Elemental

When a focus from Ars Elemental is equipped, playing music applies additional effects to nearby players and monsters.

With Ars Elemancy

When a focus from Ars Elemancy is equipped, playing music applies additional effects to nearby players and monsters.

Disc-Specific Effects

The following music discs apply specific effects when played. While any song is playing, the specified effects, plus one random effect, will be applied to 5 Players within 20m. Discs not listed still provide a random effect. Effect constraints, and banlist, can be configured via ars_musique-server.toml.

Dipped Discs

Infuse Music Discs With Potion Effects

Interact with an Ars Nouveau Potion Jar, while holding a Music Disc in your main hand, to add potion effects to a Music Disc. Interacting with a Potion Jar while sneaking will return the potion to the jar. If a disc has potion uses available, the potion effects will override the configured song effects (not focus effects). When the disc runs out of potion effects, the configured song effects will be used. Beneficial and neutral effects are applied to players. Harmful effects are applied to monsters. Each disc can store 40 potion uses. Focus effects continue to apply, with or without potion uses.

Effect Amplification & Duration Extension

When playing a dipped disc, and the equipped focus applies a duplicate effect, the duplicate effect is amplified. Any status effect from other sources - potions, food, etc. - are also amplified or extended when the same focus effect would be applied. The duplication check is based on the effect, not the potion or effect instance, so Ars Nouveau multi-potions can result in two amplified effects.

Bardic Inspiration

Bardic Inspiration is a status effect introduced by Ars Musique. It provides Hero Of The Village discounts, and amplifies Hero Of The Village if it is already applied. The effect is applied when music is playing.

Compatibility

Ars Musique supports playback for any items tagged as music discs. Plus Enchanting Apparatus recipes for music discs from over 116 mods. See COMPATIBILITY.md for a list of supported mods.

If there is a mod whose discs are not yet supported, for playback or crafting, please create an issue to request its inclusion.
