Archipelago World 0.9.22
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
0.9.22 (beta)
Volcano islands redone: a steep cone with a ragged rim, a crater with a lava lake in the middle (the crater used to be water), and a wide flat apron between the foot and the coast, with room to build and for structures to generate. No lakes on the cone.
0.9.21
- Far archipelagos: nine new biome sets (mushroom island, about 1 in 40; ice spikes; rocky peaks; sunflower plains; old-growth spruce; savanna plateau; snowy peaks; stony shore; warm reef sea) and four new outlines (crescent, chain of three islands, atoll with a lagoon, volcano).
- New worlds get them; old worlds keep their old far islands.
- Developer mode: pick the biome set and outline of every far archipelago.
0.9.20
- Settings map: a small icon button in the corner puts the map back to the whole island.
0.9.19
- Climates of the main island: temperate, hot, cold, tropical, swamp, blossom, steppe. Auto (by seed), a fixed climate, or "custom" (the old sliders). Climates have their own variants (snowy taiga, ice spikes, bamboo, mangroves, wooded badlands...) and set the kind of villages.
- The island shape can be Auto (random by seed). New worlds get Auto for both, even if you never open the settings screen.
0.9.18
- Settings preview map: the wheel zooms towards the cursor, the map is moved with the right or middle mouse button.
0.9.17
- Fix: a world created straight from the world-type list got the old rules (one ocean, caves only under land). It now gets the new defaults. Existing worlds are not changed.
0.9.12 to 0.9.16 (Distant Horizons)
- Optional Distant Horizons support: far terrain shows the Archipelago islands (sea, sand, snow and grass tops, rough trees by biome) instead of vanilla land. Small islands stay bare, like in the real world.
0.9.13
- Nothing but the village near a village: other structures keep about 96 blocks away from village sites (setting
keepout, 0 turns it off).
0.9.9 and 0.9.10
- Click a village on the map to choose its kind: auto, plains, desert, savanna, taiga, snowy.
- Fix: all five village kinds really generate now (before, only the plains village did).
- Fix: ravines no longer cut through mountains.
0.9.6 to 0.9.8
- Pixel-art icons for villages, spawn and structures on the preview maps.
- Structures tab: icon box next to every slider, click to put a copy of the structure on the map, drag it (white frame = fits, red = cannot generate there), right click removes it.
- Structures the game itself generates can be dragged on the map too.
- Own icon for every vanilla structure, tooltips with name and mod.
0.9.3 to 0.9.5
- Rocky peaks on the main island (slider): sharp crests, and a peak at the coast drops sheer into deep water.
- Fix: a mountain at the coast no longer makes the ocean beside it cold or frozen.
- Fix: the random island seed no longer resets when the settings screen rebuilds.
0.9.1 and 0.9.2
- Far big islands get an outline and character from their seed: round, elongated, horseshoe, donut with a lagoon, split; mountains, rivers and lakes.
- Lakes: paint lake points, or use the random lakes sliders.
- Character presets on the Shape tab: mountainous, flat, lakes, rivers, dry.
- Developer mode: free camera, no fog of war in the paint editor.
0.9.0
- Paint editor: fog of war around the island, rivers capped by island size, biome cells grow with island size.
0.8.x
- Caves and ravines continue under the sea floor (new worlds).
- Oceans follow the climate of the coast (taiga: cold, snow: frozen, jungle, savanna, desert, badlands, swamp: warm, meadow, cherry, flower: lukewarm), with huge random patches further out.
- Villages: room for 1 village under 500 blocks, 2 from 500.
- Biome colours and rules in one file,
config/archipelago_world/biome_rules.txt, for modpack makers.
0.7.x
- Biome cells: biomes on the main island are round, angular or wavy cells with their own size, count and edge noise; place biome points by hand.
- Wavy rivers.
0.6.1
- Biome choice in the paint editor is a window with every biome.
- Drag villages and the spawn point on the map; a drop on water moves to the nearest land.
Notes
- Beta. Back up important worlds. New settings default to the old behaviour in existing worlds.
- Not compatible with mods that replace world generation biomes (TerraBlender, Terralith and similar).
