Changes/Additions as of v2.5.0
(Certain changes are for errors that were present in some versions of the mod and not others. I did incorporate fixes in earlier versions where applicable, but this is a blanket change log across all versions.)
Notable additions (that may be referenced again below) include Bucket of Aquatic Mob items for many of Aquatic Craft's entities, an updated Hallucination effect, and both new and final endgame boss!
- Corrected the missing textures for suspicious fish meat
- Added a stone bricks + monster egg blocks tag for the Silverfish spawn egg recipe to use
- Fixed and/or adjusted the following spawn egg recipes: Bat, Silverfish, Slime, Witch, Cave Crawler, Dark Crawler
- Corrected the "Bucket of Brown Hermit Crab" (which formerly only existed in the Overworld Edition) mistakenly being named "Black" instead of "Brown"
- Mantis Maul flavor text now correctly states that it is akin to a diamond pickaxe rather than an iron one
- Hammerhead Hammers and Archaic Bludgeons now smelt ores adjacent to the block broken directly, if they have the Smelt enchantment
- Corrected a typo in The Writhing Mass' boss fight dialogue where the text says it "stregthens its grip"
- The Crown of Thorns boss' Sentinel dialogue has similarly been corrected, removing "an"s (e.g. "an a strong feeling")
- Aquatic Craft's custom 'stone-type mob' damage bonus, when using pickaxes against qualifying mobs (including arthropods), prevented the Devouring Shovel drop from Stonewalls. This has been corrected. However, any mobs hurt by the effect will still take additional void damage. Should they die from this bonus damage, they may not drop player-specific drops.
- Corrected a niche issue where, when the player has a Strength effect and uses a pickaxe capable of mining hadal stone, it dealt bonus generic damage rather than void damage
- Fixed the thermal fish advancement not triggering when caught with an Aquamarine Rod
- Tweaked the Golden Bagfish loot table
- Made the Hallucination effect reality - updating it with many new random occurences
- Added and updated names of potions for custom status effects
- Added recipes for the mod's custom status effect potions, as well as a recipe for Bottles o' Enchanting
- Changed the flavor text for Bucket of Cave Crawler and Bucket of Dark Crawler mob items to "Who's your daddy?" and "A cave dweller" respectively
- Changed the flavor text of Bucket of Immortal Jellyfish to "Live, float, die, repeat."
- Changed the Bucket of Lime Hermit Crab rarity to rare
- Changed the sponge block recipe group from "aqrg_compress" to "aqrg_combine"
- Made the Immortal Cube recipe shaped. You now need to have Immortal Goop in a 2x2 grid to make a cube!
- Added a bucket of Brine Fluid recipe using Toxic Goop and a Water Bucket
- Added custom tropical fish for more holidays! Including Día de los Muertos, Lunar New Year, 420 into Earth Day, several oceanic awareness holidays like World Reef Day, Shark Awareness Day, and more!
- Added "useless" enchantments to apply when some armor sets are crafted, namely Aquamarine, Murexium, and Eidolite, and disabled the permanent enchantment shine for these types of equipment, allowing players to have unshiny unenchanted versions. I also disabled the permanent shine on the Mantis Maul for the same reason.
- Updated the procedures controlling how the Mantis Maul and 'rare tool set' (Hammerhead Hammer, Overgrowth Hoe, Devouring Shovel, Fire Axe, and Sailfish Rapier) receive enchantments
- Changed the Aquatic Portal block rarity to rare
- Altered/Added loot tables to: Pufferfish, Starfish, Triggerfish, Archerfish, and Deep Conjurers. The former three have had Sponge Chunks added to their drop tables and the latter three very rarely might drop something special~
- Created a sponge tag for the Shrimp Effigy recipe. Now vanilla or custom sponge blocks work!
- Added The Nebulous Stargazer endgame boss and its minions, along with its effigy item to summon it, and its special drop upon being defeated~
- Added endgame boss advancements
- Added recipe unlocks for The Nebulous Stargazer boss' effigy after defeating The Biggest Squid or The Crown of Thorns
- Added a recipe unlock for Null Eggs after completing the advancement to collect Turtle Eggs
- Added the Mesmerizing Minnow mob
- Added a bucketable mobs tag- consisting of almost every small custom Aquatic Craft mob
- Changed the Bucket of Gray and Purple Hermit Crab items' flavor texts when adjusting for height differences between the Overworld Edition and main edition
- Added a Disenchanting Cloth and the ability to legitimately acquire Active Powder
- Sorted out creative inventory tabs - ...again!
- Added a few "Need for Speed" procedures which increase the swim speed attribute for numerous custom mobs, both on spawn, and when ever turn aggressive. (The aggressive boost reverts once they're no longer chasing a target.) Fish gotta go fast!
- Increased the base swim speed of Deep Blue, The Sweltering Redfin, and The Colossal Brute from 0.65 to 0.85
- Adjusted the animations (still 1.16.5 only sorry!) for the following entities, so they don't look so silly moving faster, or for any other reason: Hammerhead Shark, Big Squid, Bigger Squid, Stonewall, Sailfish, Deep Blue, Lancetfish, Lurker, Tomopteris, Lantern Shark, Boneface, The Colossal Brute, The Bloodied Thrasher, Essence of Blood
- The Mesmerizing Phantasm, now having access to a real Hallucination effect, applies it randomly with levels between 2-5
- Bigger Squid have had their default water movement inverted from 0.0035 to -0.0035 and they now have a Pulled Down effect on themselves - to try and limit how much their AI gets stuck when they leap at you
- Decreased Hammerhead Shark spawn weight from 4 to 3 (there were a lot of them when I was testing!)
- Added a 'if not client-side' check to the Fish Launcher and Archaic Launcher when firing fish, which should prevent any weird server-client desyncs where you have a status effect with a timer stuck at 00:00 forever until you leave the world (oof!)
Several changes that previously only existed in the Overworld Edition, which include:
- Added 'bucket of aquatic mob' items for 63 mobs! Right-click while holding an empty bucket, bucket of water, or bucket of brine fluid on pretty much any small Aquatic Craft mob!
- The mobs should be able to retain their names and will not despawn, even if unnamed. (One exception being the hot puffer due to how it changes size by spawning and despawning.)
- Very sparse sea grass now generates in the Algid Brine biome.
- Large pumice rock structures (3) now generate in the Sea Mount biome.
- Decreased wobbegong float movement from 0.002 to 0.0015. (They sink just a tad more now.)
- Increased copepod float movement from 0.0025 to 0.0035 (They float upwards just a tad more now.),
- Tripled box jellyfish spawn weight from 80 to 240.
- Fixed an issue where small hot puffers would constantly shift between small and medium size when the player was at just the right distance while in spectator mode.
- Updated hammerhead hammer and archaic bludgeon 3x3 mining procedures. They should function the same, but if something does go wrong, I'm making a note of the change here.
- Added further conditions to check before a Derelict Hollow dungeon generates, to prevent them from clipping with each other.
- Nurse shark spawn weight has been decreased from 7 to 5.
I am also aware of several bugs that exist in the 1.20 version of the mod and I'll get to those once I get around to updating later versions. Some of these are applicable in 1.16.5 and have been 'fixed in advance' while others have yet to be fixed given the issues aren't present in 1.16.5:
- Too many turtles spawn!
- Hardened Iron Ore can be mined with wood-tier pickaxes
- Aquatic Portals generate duplicates in the Overworld at the same height they exist in the Aquatic dimension
- Slime and Tadpole spawn egg recipes are the same (I changed the slime one)
- Tropical Berry Bushes should check for the top face of a block before being planted
- Shrimp take longer to cook than usual
- Cooked fish restore a TON of saturation
- The scalding waters of the Thermal Ridge biome only burn at elevations y80 and up- oops!
- Nautilus can sometimes spawn on top of mountains- outside of the water
- Stonewalls have a 1x1 collision box, and they- as well as some other larger mobs are 'derpy' and don't aggro right
- The Algid Brine has snow layers. Unintentional but I'm not sure what to do about it. The layer of ice looks buggy by default too sigh
- Heat Stone isn't generating! Add a recipe similar to Ice Stone, but with Magma Chunks
