Description
Apothic Compat adds Apotheosis loot category compatibility for popular weapon mods that are missing correct category assignments. Without this mod, weapons from these mods show as NONE in Apotheosis and cannot receive affixes or gem sockets.
Uses the official Apotheosis IMC override API for maximum compatibility. No mixins, no access transformers, no patching.
Supported Mods
- L'Ender's Cataclysm: All weapons, armor, and tools registered with correct categories by explicit item ID. Zweiender as sword. Ranged Witherite weapons (Wither Assault Shoulder Weapon, Laser Gatling, Void Assault Shoulder Weapon) as crossbow.
- Iron's Spellbooks: Weapons and spell-casting items registered with correct categories. Defers to Fallen Gems & Affixes when loaded.
- Tetra: Fixes bows and crossbows being miscategorized as light weapons. Fixes weapons upgraded with Planar Stabilizers being miscategorized as pickaxes.
- Alex's Mobs: Blood Sprayer as bow.
- Alex's Caves: Spears, dagger, staves, ortholance, and gauntlet as swords. Primitive Club as heavy weapon. Dreadbow and Raygun as bows.
- Spartan Weaponry: All weapon types and material variants covered. Daggers, longswords, katanas, sabers, rapiers, spears, javelins, and quarterstaves as swords. Greatswords, battleaxes, battle hammers, warhammers, flanged maces, glaives, halberds, lances, pikes, scythes, clubs, and cestuses as heavy weapons. Longbows as bow, heavy crossbows as crossbow.
- Simply Swords: Claymores, longswords, rapiers, katanas, cutlasses, twinblades, scythes, sai, warglaives, spears, and chakrams as swords. Glaives, halberds, greataxes, and greathammers as heavy weapons.
- Integrated Simply Swords: Matches the Simply Swords mapping across cross-mod material variants. Alex's Caves Polarizer as heavy weapon.
- Enigmatic Legacy: Voracious Pan as sword, Axe of Executioner and Astral Breaker as heavy weapons.
- Mowzie's Mobs: Weapons and tools registered with correct categories.
- Bosses of Mass Destruction: Earthdive Spear as sword (older Obsidian Spear and Nether Staff entries retained for back-compat).
- Forbidden and Arcanus: Draco Arcanus axe as heavy, rest as swords.
- Born in Chaos: Scythes, axes, and hammers as heavy. Swords and daggers as swords.
- Deeper and Darker: Suffix-matched swords and knives.
- Spartan Shields: All shield types registered with shield category.
- Knight Quest Reforged: Paladin Sword as heavy. Cleaver, Uchigatana, Nail, Kukri as swords.
- Knight Quest (Count Grimhart, 1.19.2 only): Named swords handled. Paladin Sword as heavy.
- Aquamirae: Weapons and armor registered with correct categories.
- Epic Knights: Polearms, mauls, claymores, and zweihanders as heavy weapons. Shield overrides. Swords, axes, and armor handled by the universal fallback.
- Spartan and Fire: Inherits Spartan Weaponry's compat automatically.
- Meet Your Fight: Dusk Greatsword as heavy, rest as swords. Bell Crossbow as crossbow.
- Samurai Dynasty: Katanas, kama, sai, and spears assigned correct categories.
- Dread Steel: Dreadsteel Scythe as heavy weapon. Dreadsteel Shield as shield.
- Marium's Soulslike Weaponry: Greatswords, scythes, and glaives as heavy. Spears and swordspears as swords. Named legendaries pinned.
- Dungeons and Combat: Hammers, claymores, greatswords, and dragon greatsword variants as heavy weapons. Pyromancer scepter, sanguine scepter, fairy scepter, and scepter of compensation route to staffs when both Fallen Gems & Affixes and Iron's Spellbooks are loaded, otherwise sword.
- Weapons of Miracles: All weapons and armor registered with correct categories by explicit item ID.
- Epic Fight: Greatswords as heavy weapons. Longswords, daggers, spears, tachis, bokken, uchigatana, and glove as swords.
- EpicFight-Resurrection: Greatswords and great tachi as heavy weapons. Longswords as swords.
- EpicFight-Nightfall: Ruins Greatsword and Ghiza's Wheel as heavy weapons.
- Celestisynth: Nine named weapons, mostly swords with Poltergeist as heavy and Rainfall Serenity as bow. Defers to Fallen Gems & Affixes when loaded.
- T.O Magic 'n Extras: Boss weapons across all four upgrade tiers. Most as swords, Galenic Polarizer as heavy weapon, Trident of the Eternal Maelstrom as trident. Staffs as swords unless Fallen Gems & Affixes is loaded.
- RPG Style More Weapons: Battle axes and greatswords as heavy weapons. Knives as swords.
- Fallen Gems & Affixes: When present, vanilla Iron's Spellbooks staffs and T.O Magic 'n Extras staffs route to FG&A's Staffs category, and Celestisynth weapons route to FG&A's Celestial Melee and Celestial Ranged categories.
Universal Fallback
Automatically covers any other mod not listed above using instanceof checks on vanilla item classes. Covers swords, axes, bows, crossbows, tridents, pickaxes, shovels, and all armor slots. Mods extending the right vanilla classes (SwordItem, AxeItem, BowItem, etc.) get categorized correctly without needing an explicit module. This includes:
- Farmer's Delight: Knives as swords.
- Dungeons Delight: Knives and cleavers as swords.
- dacxirons: Staves as swords.
- Cataclysm Weaponry: Ignitium tools and sword.
- Immersive Armors: Armor pieces.
- Armageddon: Most items.
Configuration
The config accepts any registered Apotheosis loot category, including built-in categories (sword, heavy_weapon, trident, bow, crossbow, shield, helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots, pickaxe, shovel) and categories added by other mods like Fallen Gems & Affixes (staffs, celestial_melee, celestial_ranged). Set an item to `none` to fully blacklist it from rolling any affixes. Use /ac reload or /apothiccompat reload to apply config changes without restarting.
Items already handled by Apotheosis
Apotheosis sets hardcoded defaults in its own config/apotheosis/adventure.cfg under the Equipment Type Overrides list. These take precedence over both this mod's config and built-in compat modules. As of Apotheosis 7.4.8 the hardcoded defaults are:

Setting these items in apothic_compat.toml will not work. To override them, edit adventure.cfg directly.
Requirements
Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.x, Apotheosis 7.4.x required. All other mods are optional soft dependencies. Server side only. Also available for Minecraft 1.19.2 (see Files tab).
