Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Off-hand summoning
Whips attack on right-click. That means if you're holding one, the click never reaches your off hand, and there's no way to fire a summon staff without swapping weapons every few seconds.
Added a keybind for it. V by default, rebind it under Controls if that clashes with something.
It only fires the terra_entity summon staves, so you won't accidentally chuck an ender pearl or drink a potion. A staff in your main hand still summons on right-click like it always did.
One thing that makes this worth doing at all: Apotheosis affixes and gems work from either hand, so you don't lose anything by moving a staff to your off hand. Confluence's own Terraria prefixes are main-hand only though, so that part you do lose.
Grovebound fix
Grovebound's whip bonus was Sentry Capacity, which turned out to do nothing at all. Confluence has the code for sentries but never registers any items that use them, so there was nothing for the stat to attach to.
It grants Minion Capacity on whips now, same as it already did on staves.
Earlier versions
If you're new to the mod, here's roughly what came before.
1.3.0 added the Fluencia gems. Five of them, one hue each, and every purity tier gets its own shade so you can tell a Cracked from a Perfect without reading the tooltip. Fluencia is straight damage, Ichorbound is lifesteal, Tidecaller is cooldown and whip range, Grovebound is minion slots, Sunforged is XP. Grovebound is the only one that doesn't fit guns.
1.2.0 roughly doubled the affix pools, 21 up to 46. Also added proc effects, because every rarity above Common asks for them and I hadn't written any, so those slots were falling back on Apotheosis's two generic ones. Magic damage was also eating 46% of the staff pool by weight and showing up in almost every roll, which is why reforging felt so samey. That's down to 13% now.
