Darkness spreads across the digital realm. A strange infection has begun to twist the very code of the Minecraft world — spreading through dimensions, corrupting creatures, and giving rise to Alternates: entities that blur the line between human, machine, and spirit.

This mod explores the mystery of the Archangel’s Plague, a cosmic event that changed the balance between creation and chaos. The player becomes part of an unfolding story where every sound, every shadow, and every strange structure might hide a clue.

The Alternates

Alternates are mysterious beings that appeared from unknown realms during the early formation of the Minecraft universe.

They are capable of mimicking the appearance of players or villagers, but their movements and voices are slightly distorted — like reflections in a cracked mirror. Each Alternate variant has unique traits:

Standard Alternates: Common entities with human-like forms and eerie, shifting faces.

N-Type Alternates: Faster and more unstable, capable of vanishing into light.

Controllable Alternate Commanders: Intelligent leaders that can issue commands to other entities.

Spectral Alternates: Energy-based versions that phase through blocks and distort nearby light.

When attacked, some Alternates emit disturbing frequencies or strange static-like noises, hinting at their non-physical origins.

The Governments and Factions

In the wake of the plague, several governments and factions formed across the world:

Authoritarian Regimes: Highly militarized factions that seek to weaponize Alternate energy. Their soldiers wear gas masks and follow strict orders.

Independent Alliance: A coalition of free settlers, scientists, and survivors who aim to protect the natural world from both the plague and tyranny.

Unknown Order: A secretive cult-like group believed to worship the fallen Archangel who started the plague.

Players can encounter camps, outposts, and hidden facilities belonging to each faction. Some may be hostile, others may trade or provide clues.

The Archangel’s Legacy

At the heart of the corruption lies a celestial being — The Archangel — a figure of immense power who rebelled against the divine order of creation. His presence warped reality itself, spawning the Alternates and the Plague Virus. Ruined temples and dimensional cracks found throughout the world whisper of his name — though none dare speak it aloud.
