What's new

AVP Human — 0.1.7-fork

⚠ Breaking

  • Update BLib to 0.3.0-alpha.421+. The mod will not load on the old one.
  • Nothing was removed from your worlds. No block, item or entity was renamed or deleted — existing builds and mobs load exactly as they were.
  • Sentry turrets are picked up differently. Right-click now tells you what the turret needs; sneak + right-click picks it up.
  • Aliens attack sentry turrets on sight now, instead of waiting to be shot first. Turret lines will be attacked far more aggressively.

What's New

  • Marine Dog — a tameable companion. Tame with cornbread, fights alongside you and your marines.
  • Corn Bread— recipe: milk, egg, wheat, yellow dye - just like mama Yutani used to make
       - Also sold at commissary villagers 1 emerald for 6
  • Marine inventory screen — open a hired marine like a container. 108-slot scrolling backpack, issued gear locked so you can't strip a squad by accident, and buttons for Follow / Hold / Sentry plus Dismiss.
  • Sentry mode — post a marine to guard a spot. Full filter page: whitelist or blacklist, seven mob categories, a searchable custom mob list, and nine favourite slots. Filters govern hunting, not self-defence.
  • Marines fall back under fire — low on ammo with something closing in, they backpedal while still shooting.
  • Marines resupply — a marine that runs completely dry gets fresh ammo after five minutes.
  • Marines can turn on each other — open fire on another marine's group and the two sides go hostile, including friendly fire through what used to be an ally shield. They disengage once the fighting stops.
  • Coloured industrial glass — stairs, slabs, doors, trapdoors and walls in all 16 colours (97 new blocks). Coloured stairs and slabs tint a beacon beam.
  • Walls — industrial glass in all 16 colours, plus plastic walls in all 16.
  • Nuke overhaul — craters persist through a relog instead of leaving a half-finished hole, fallout spreads outward over time, irradiated land discolours and hazes, and ash falls across the blast zone. Craters drain properly now.
  • Radiation sickness — no longer a fixed debuff. Exposure builds while you're near a source and falls off slowly once you leave.
  • Gun overhaul — aim down sights with a sight calibration screen, a sniper scope overlay, per-weapon recoil, and accuracy that responds to how you're moving. Old Painless overheats under sustained fire. Hit detection moved server-side, closing a class of desync and cheating issues. Armour now cares about calibre, including alien carapace.
  • Fireproof padding — all padding blocks, every colour, no longer burn.
  • Soundproof industrial glass — the whole glass family dampens vibrations like wool. A space fully enclosed in it is silent to wardens, sculk sensors, boilers and facehugger eggs. A single window doesn't do it.
  • Turret status readout — right-click a turret and it tells you if it needs redstone, an ammo chest, or Medium Bullets. Also fires when you place one.
  • Cornbread is craftable now — wheat, egg, milk bucket and yellow dye, or buy it from a Commissary villager. Feeds better than bread.
  • Also: Tactical Knife, Drum Cannister and Drum Cartridge ammo, and guns can be unloaded back into ammunition.
       - Also can be dual weilded

Changes

  • Marines pick better weapons — damage, effective range at the current distance, crowd handling, and whether it's their own issued gun. Shotguns are close-range now; Old Painless is handicapped at point-blank because a minigun needs to spin up.
  • Marines carry spare ammo, raise their weapons properly, no longer despawn when hired, and remember their orders through a relog.
  • Ape armour is much tougher, but the full set now slows you down.
  • Turrets are far cheaper on server performance.

Bug Fixes

  • Marines only loaded one bullet per reload — every round-fed weapon was affected
  • Marines aimed sideways, holding the rifle up to 75° off what they were shooting
  • Marines ran side to side instead of retreating
  • Marines never raised their arms to fire
  • Hired marines vanished; spawn eggs despawned instantly
  • The nuke could freeze your game on detonation
  • Sentries stood still and died if attacked by something outside their filter
  • Sniper rifles demanded the wrong magazines; Old Painless never used its drum
  • Immersive Engineering / ATM10 crashes
