Coal finally has somewhere to go: a long chain turns one stack of it into a single block of carbon ceramic.

• Carbon Ceramic - one stack of coal, one block. Dust presses into rods, two rods hammer into one, two of those fire with slag into a briquette, and four plates make the block.
• Build a quench press. A water source with a piston facing it. Throw in a briquette and 2 redstone dust, fire the piston, and four ceramic plates pop out in a hiss of steam.
• The press runs without you. A dropper feeds it, an observer fires it, a hopper catches the plates - all vanilla blocks.
• No workbench recipe for plates. Not in a building mood? Right-click a water source with the briquette and take three instead of four.
• Sorting your junk finally pays. Four poor slag, two ordinary or one rich - the briquette is the same, so the tidier your recycling, the cheaper it gets.
