What's new

AkumaLib 4.4.0

One more damage type icon, a softer landing for flying forms, and a large set of shared pieces for addon makers. Abilities whose damage is indirect now show it as an icon like the other damage types, a player in a flying form who leaves the game in the air no longer pays the fall when coming back, and addons get the pieces that several fruit kits had each written for themselves. The corrections of Mine Mine no Mi of 4.0.0 to 4.3.0 are all still there, each with its switch.

Requires Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47+ and Mine Mine no Mi 0.11.5. JEI and EMI are optional.

The network protocol is unchanged (7): 4.4.0 and 4.3.0 play together. Nothing changes for an addon: no signature was removed or changed, and an addon made for 4.0.0 to 4.3.0 works with 4.4.0.

Added

  • An icon for indirect damage. In an ability's tooltip the damage type "indirect" was written as a line of text while every other type had its icon. It has one now, beside the others.
  • Flying forms and a lost connection. A player in a flying form who leaves the game in the air came back as a man in the sky and paid the whole fall. The first fall after coming back is now free, for every addon whose flight is built on AkumaLib.

For addon makers

  • Whom an ability may reach. AkumaAim gathers the rules every sweep, hold and projectile should follow: canStrike and mayFight (never a player in creative, never the animal of another player unless its master is there and may be fought, never an armour stand), and the usual shapes: within, ahead, alongLook, around.
  • Small helpers moved in from a fruit addon: TechniqueSource, Techniques, Smash, Holds, SparedFalls, PanelWalls, GroundLayers, CooldownFamily.
  • A creature that loses its quarry. Quarry makes a creature forget the one it is after, in its target and in its memory (piglins and wardens keep it there): forget, dropPursuers, and blind, which stops a creature from taking any quarry for a while.
  • A body in another matter. MatterBodyMorphInfo is a form that is the player's own model in a skin worked out from his own, at any size: a giant of stone, a coat of metal. MatterMorphRenderer draws its first-person arm in that matter. MorphEyes gives a form's eyes for the poses it names its box for.
  • Giants of matter. MatterGiantAbility: a giant body at several sizes, chosen before it is raised, whose matter takes the blows, grows back on the right ground and falls apart when none is left.
  • Forms that last a time. TimedSizeFormAbility: a form with a time limit in several sizes, whose cooldown is paid for the share of the time it was held.
  • Items a player keeps with him. PlayerStore: a store that follows a player over a death, opened with any chest screen of the game, and that hands back what it refuses.
  • Strong bodies and turned shots. StrongBodies (players, bosses and the akumalib:bosses entity tag) for a hold that lasts less on them, and Shots to send a projectile back the way it came (the akumalib:thrown_weapons entity tag stays with its thrower).
  • Counting blocks. BlockScan.countAround and BlockScan.nearest, for a power that feeds on the stone, the gold or the plants around its user.

An addon that uses them declares versionRange = "[4.4.0,5)".

All of these are described on the AkumaLib pages.
