Mod was presented on the modpack Linggango!

Version of the mod on the video(1.2.0); later versions could be improved and may skip this video.

Important!: 

AI provider used by the mod has changed its limits and available AI models, which caused the free version to stop working.
The only option is to use a paid plan with an API token and change the selected AI/model in the mod settings if it was changed on the provider’s side. I do not recommend this, as I haven’t tested the paid plans.

Another option is using a local AI translator (Ollama), which can be enabled in the mod settings, but it requires manual installation ollama, downloading models, and a powerful GPU to work properly with Minecraft.

Because of this, the mod may not translate anything at all. so that why i I have decided to suspend development on this project until further notice!!

How It Works

This mod intercepts the tooltip that appears when you hover over a quest. It then sends the original text to an AI endpoint and displays the returned translation. It supports two modes:

  1. Cloud API: Connects to any OpenAI-compatible API (defaults to a free-tier service).
  2. Local AI: Connects directly to a local or network instance of Ollama.

Configuration

All configuration is done in-game! Go to the Mods menu, select AI FTB Translator, and click the "Configure…" button. The menu is split into clear sections for General Settings, Community Cache, and API Details.

  • Expanded Mod Support: Add translation capabilities for other mods, such as Patchouli books.
  • "Replace Mode": An option to replace the original text instead of adding the translation below it.
